I did not see what happened, but Duncan is a terrible cry baby, and he gets away with things like banging the ball on the floor when a faul is called on him without a tech. If Amare did that he would get a tech real quick. Duncan needs a couple techs, but not sure how he could get another one on the bench unless he said something off color.?

I don't understand the second tech......the only thing i can think of is that crawford still had something on his mind that he should of either taken care of prior.....or let it go. He made a bad move IMO. He should apologize to duncan and try to clear things up before the playoffs if he is a true professional. Duncan must have really pissed him off....for one to even think about defending such actions by a ref. I'm glad that the mavs didn't lay down and lose the game. For them it is important to keep winning against the spurs regardless of the situation. Duncan probably does get away with more with the refs when compared to most other players in the league. So i'm not tearing up with any of the cry-baby spurs fans who do their fair share of complaining as well. don't forget they are a one horse town.......unless you include the dallas cowboys.

Both of his techs were sitting on the bench...within a minute or so of each other. Just incredibly odd. Joey is a real asshat. He and Steve Javie are minions of Satan.

NBA referee Joey Crawford has been indefinitely suspended for improper conduct toward Tim Duncan during the San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks game on April 15, it was announced today by NBA Commissioner David Stern. The conduct included Crawford's assessment of a second technical foul and ejection of Duncan following laughter by the player while he was seated on the bench, and inappropriate comments made to Duncan during the game.
Crawford's suspension will cover at least the remainder of the 2006-07 season, including the NBA Playoffs and Finals.

"Joey Crawford's handling of this situation failed to meet the standards of professionalism and game management we expect of NBA referees," said Stern. "Especially in light of similar prior acts by this official, a significant suspension is warranted. Although Joey is consistently rated as one of our top referees, he must be held accountable for his actions on the floor, and we will have further discussions with him following the season to be sure he understands his responsibilities."

The incidents occurred with 1:04 remaining in the third period of the Mavericks 91-86 win over the Spurs on Sunday, April 8 at American Airlines Center.

This is the first good thing in this term that Stern did

I am surprised that the punishment was that Stern.

Regardless of his many missteps, I still believe love him or hate him, David Stern is the best commissioner in professional sports. This just proves the point.

The Valley so low.
Granting that the case was extreme, it's amusing that Stern stepped in to protect the Spurs. He's ignored a lot of ridiculous calls and no-calls over the year, especially when a player comes out bleeding after no foul. I think we'd be better off with a ref around who's not afraid, or obeying orders, or whatever it is, and would call a Spurs game even close to fairly.
