Took you off ignore and I agree, speed at RB hurt us today. There were 2 plays where Emmitt and Hambrick reversed field and a faster RB may get 40-50 yards but they didn't come close to that. Emmitt is so smart and so tough, but he can't outrun DE's.

If the right trade came along the bye week with emmitt having a groin injury would be perfect to break in a new RB. Won't happen though if we were going to do it I think we'd have already pulled the trigger

I just cant stand to think that all we needed was maybe 3 first downs and the game is over. How many runs got stuffed for no gains?

I must admit that Denny let me down today!! I thought for sure he would fire this team up to not let this happen.

I think the trade deadline is this Friday. If it happens it will be soon.

again I really dont care who we get, whoever it is has got to have more juice than any back we got now. We need speed in the worse way.

Emmitt looked so indecisive, because he knew he could not outrun anybody.

Any comments on the Officiating?>

I thought the announcers (who were spewing 49 kool - aid by the way) were full of crap.

That call in OT on a late hit on 3rd down on Rattay was pure FFFFFPPPPPHHHHH*$^%*&^$*&$%#%^* ing BS.

Let the players DECIDE IT.

iT'S WHAT I HATE ABOUT SPORTS - TO MANY DAM()*&(&*^ INTERVENTIONS.

YOU GOTTA HAVE A NO - CALL THERE

Two running backs that come to mind that might be available are William Green and Lamont Jordan.

The question will be who and what are we willing to give up? I'll trade our 3rd conditional pick and trade for RB Jordan. If he gets close to a 1,000 yards the 3rd round becomes a 2nd round pick.

We are not going anywhere this year. While I agree we lack speed to the outside. Trading for a RB is not the answer. This would be a waste of a pick. Ride out the season, and get a RB in the draft. Cedric Benson and at least 4 four college RB's are better than any of the names mentioned so far. He has size, speed, and pretty good home run ability. Our first three picks in any order should be a RB/DB/ DT. Even though this teams record is 1-4, they are light years ahead of the crap we all witnessed last year. 2005 is the year we make the jump to a possible wild card spot, and in 2006 we get everyones attention.

I know it stings guys. But we are going to have to be patient. We don't want to go crazy like the Dolphins and waste picks on sub-par players in desperation.

Totally agree REDSZ. Throwing away draft picks on guys who "might" be a good RB is insane. They havent proved anything yet on thier curent team. Build this team through the draft.

I agree that it's useless to trade for someone right now, but I think that Green needs to cut someone. I think this team needs to be shaken up again. To quit in the 4th qtr of a game against an nfl team can not happen, you will never make the playoffs that way. Question is, who's he going to cut?

I dont think they quit. They starting playing not to lose. BIG difference. MAc's team quit, this team played conservative with a lead, and it cost them.

Right, get a college player, pay him more, because he's proved nothing in the NFL either?

I like Benson, I think he'll be terrific, I am not confident enough we'll get him that I'm willing to just surrender this season to a bunch of slow RB's.

But the Jets say jordan isn't available anyways.

Scobey is not slow. Croom is not slow. I am totally against trading draft picks on guys who are average Rbs. If we fast forward two years, and we have the talent to be in the playoffs like we all expect. And, we still have issues with speed to the outside, I would be more comfortable in trading. We still have too many holes to throw picks away.

I think you know what he means Russ. :) Considering that we really aren't going anywhere this year, I really don't think we should go trade in desperation. Using the draft, Green could potentially find a RB who fits what Green is looking for. More so than just trading for the 'scraps' of other teams.

But then again, if we could get someone like Larry Johnson who is champing at the bit to play and is a great prospect... I might get on the bandwagon.

you guys act like we are talking about a 1st round pick. I say a 3rd... why wait and watch this team lose games, because emmitt can't make guys miss? That is like wanting the team to tank the season... you always look to improve your team no matter when it is and right now that is the best way we can improve!

Dude, Emmitt had good runs today. He was breaking quite a few tackles.

you must be talking about the TD run and maybe 2 other runs all day long. How many times did emmitt get stuffed for no gain?? way too many...especially when we needed it the most

First second, fifth who cares. If Green has the draft next year like this year, that 3rd rounder could be someone with the impact that Dockett has had this year. Ride the season out with what we have. The only way I trade is if we get a true home run threat everytime .
