Based on these accusations against Donaghy and the suspensions it seems--in my extremely biased opinion--that the Suns should've beaten the Spurs in 5 games. My question is this: at what point in this investigation can we just go ahead and celebrate the Suns winning the 2007 championship?

I have already started!

Stern will create a new award called the People's Champion Award

I will be content with that. :)

this just makes the offseason even worse to think that one of the suns vs spurs playoff games might have been fixed. and the fact we traded kurt thomas for basically nothing ugh not a good offseason at all :(

IMO, if there is an investigation I think it should be from top to bottom with no assumption of innocence. This last season, especially the playoffs, smelled fishy. Also talking about fishy... the tanking issue should be resolved and the entire season and the playoffs should be called the same (by whatever referees there are). The only basketball executive I trust right now is Jerry Colangelo.

You know what? As ridiculous as it sounds, since the nba and especially the suns vs spurs series was such a complete and utter mess, it would make sense to have the spurs rescind their 2007 trophy and then have the nba strike the 2007 season from the record.

Drastic, I know, but that is honestly what would make the most sense when you know the playoffs were compromised.

Not gonna happen but to me that is how it basically is.

The problem is I seriously am starting to think that stern is part of the scandal:

1: He took no action over the atrocious game 3, in fact he is the one that put tim donaghy in both a lakers vs suns game AND the suns vs spurs game 3.

2. Tim Donaghy had already demonstrated that he will screw the suns over bigtime like he did in the previous 2006 season knicks vs suns double overtime game. Almost the exact same type of bs calls and bs no-calls happened in suns vs spurs game 3. *EDIT from bill simmons article, looks like he favors the knicks a bit much?:

"What about the Heat-Knicks game from last February in which the Knicks were given a 39-8 free throw advantage and covered a 4.5-point spread by 1.5 points? Did Donaghy call those two technical fouls on the Miami coaches? Is there footage of Pat Riley screaming at him?"

Hmm, I would say then that he favors the spurs after the atrocious suns vs spurs game 3.

3. Without any type of intelligent thought process or showing any true leadership, he suspended both amare and diaw when they did nothing that had a negative impact on the game whatsoever.

4. The suns had almost a 70% chance I believe of having a 4+ draft pick this year, and in one of the most blatantly tampered drafts in history he gave the pick to atlanta at #3, not 20 minutes after going on a 5 straight minute speel about how duncan was the greatest player in the nba, and yet the suns amare stoudamire and diaw were "25 feet out on the court" when they were actually barely 5-10 feet away from the bench.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but that is a lot of damning evidence. Anyone with anymore to toss in?

*Edit: Oh and you know what truly amazes me? We were the only forum of all the nba forums and anti-ref posts on other forums that I have seen that were onto Tim Donaghy. Most of us somewhat jokingly made posts (I made quite a few myself) about this particular ref. More power to us I guess. That is why I love these particular forums. And every time the spurs fans accuse us of whining, they might as well be punching themselves in the mouth since we have proved with this Donaghy fiasco that we damn well know what we are talking about.

It may sound depressing... but right now I feel the NBA looks more and more like WWE.
