Translation?

We will see Beanie on Saturday.

It may be short and sweet.

But, he's playing.
i agree. The thing i don't like is the Wells has a safety net. If he plays poorly, his ankle is bothering him. If he plays well, he's a superman. I'd rather hold him out until he's 100% and then you get a fairer assessment of him.

One would have said stay away from Frank Gore who suffered a lot worse injuries than Wells. It was a sprained ankle and he just rushed a little to quickly back on to the field. I have no concerns about him being a productive back

prove your point. He missed 3 games in his entire OSU career. McGahee and Gore, i think it's the case with Gore, both had reconstructive knee surgery. I wonder if Denver fans are having a fit because Moreno has a knee issue .

True, but those aren't the only RBs either. We'll just have to see what Beanie has. I agree a bit early to hit the panic button, but I also don't like to hear that he had alot of issues at tOSU. Is this going to be a weekly thing for him?

I'd love to have JJ back. He was finaly getting it! Beanie will be okay maybe? One thing is for sure is he has weak ankles. Hightower will be the starter even if he was well. When he can get going hopefully he will be able to give us some og his good days.

I want JJ back too ... That return on Dallas was sure fun to watch. Also he really improved on the short screens and provided a smaller shiftier back. I thought he had good speed and elusiveness. We just threw him under the buss the first year especially after that Sean Taylor hit.

Alexander was a disaster last season for the Redskins.

No he wasn't. The guy hardly played. Maybe that had something to do with the fact that they still had a PBer in front of him who is a rare 3/4 down RB due to excellence in pass blocking. Perhaps it had something to do that he was signed as an insurance policy midway through the season.

He may be done, but last year's handful of carries cannot be considered indicative of anything.

IIRC JJ is out for the year (and possibly done forever) after his knee surgery???

how does a 300lb lineman rolling up on you in a pile constitute having weak ankles? I would say that's more of a freakish type thing and almost any RB would have a sprained ankle.

Maybe deal Boldin for a top RB and possibly draft picks?
:ducks:
:p
You're kidding, right?

It makes no sense to blow up a perfectly good offense because you're "afraid" a rookie RB (who may or may not help you right away) has a sprained ankle.

That said - we're kind of thin in big RB depth (After THT and Beanie, all we've got is Vincent who didn't look all that impressive vs. Pittsburgh).

But rather than trade a high-profile WR like Q for a high-profile reject from another team or in free agency - perhaps a wiser strategy would be to see what shows up on the waiver wire around the time of the final cutdown date and then trade a surplus backup WR for that guy. (For example, Redman ran tough for Pittsburgh, but may not be a lock to make their 53 man roster. I sure wouldn't mind having that guy as "Beanie insurance").
