First time poster here.

TJ Warren was one of the major surprises at seasons start, poured in some big games and then got hurt.

Since his return his play has been really up and down.

He really has the tools to become an Antawn Jamison like talent, but can he get there?

Welcome to the board.
Barring injuries I think he can be an a really good scorer. I'm struggling to think of his ceiling or who his game reminds me of.tbph

Welcone, Nbad. Warren is usually pretty steady but I think it woud help him a lot to have a PG on the floor with him all the time. I have no use for Watson's offense but he could probably thrive even in it with a steady PG to get him the ball at the right time and place. Everyone seems to on the lookout for Booker but he'd be more consistent with a steady PG, as well.

Appreciate the welcomes!

Suns do seem to have some offense first point guards on the roster in Bledsloe and Knight.

Maybe a more traditional pass first point guard in the form of a Ricky Rubio / Elfrid Payton would bring out the best in Booker and TJ.

Well time will tell and hopefully TJ can start stringing consistent strong games together!

Look forward to todays game against the Jazz

Your post made me wonder how many games this team could win with a 30 year old Steve Nash at the helm. I know they wouldn't be contenders but I bet they'd be at least a 6 seed.

I think TJ can be a caron butler in his prime level player, i.e. 18 - 20 points.

Welcome to the board! It's always great to see new people around here.

I am a huge Warren fan, and I really think he can be a very good player. I think it will take him a while to get back into the rhythm both physically and mentally. One of the problems he has is the fact that he is competing for the minutes with PJ Tucker who happens to be the Suns' best defender. You can't really move him to 4 as you have two other youngsters there. In my opinion, he needs PJ Tucker to be traded more than anything else. Better play-making PG wouldn't hurt either.

Again, welcome aboard Nbadan78.

I hope you become a regular poster on t
he Suns forum.

The other posters have pretty much said what needs to happen with Warren to improve his game. I'd like for him to get stronger and he needs to stay healthy of course to reach his potential. Also if Warren improves his defense this should help him a lot to stay on the floor. What I really like about Warren is he knows how to position himself to score. He is a natural scorer.

Not sure if he has it in him, but, if TJ can become a more consistent shooter from 12-15 feet, I think he'd be nearly unstoppable. His paint and inside game are so solid. Having a consistent J to add to his weaponry would be magic!

I don't think our point guards have anything to do with Warren's disappearances. It looks to me like he comes out hustling some nights and some times he just doesn't seem to have that energy. I don't know what's going on with him but I hope he finds his way all the way back soon. We need him.

His mid-range shot shouldn't be an issue for him. Hopefully consistency will come with time.

Maybe when he quits looking over his shoulder for Tucker to relieve him, he will become a better player.

Really hope Knight and Tucker are off the team by the deadline. Especially because Tucker's a FA after the season and will be cashing in on some large payday under this new cap.

Welcome and he has raw talent IMO. I am excited to see his full potential.

If that is indeed the case, he needs to get over that.

Knight needs to be traded as he does not seem to have a role on the Suns but I wouldn't be shocked if the Suns brought back Tucker if he can be signed to a reasonable contract.

The Suns signing Dudley to a three year 30 million dollar contract is still a puzzle to me.

If they seriously thought he could play PF, then it was pretty legit considering their only PFs at the time were two rookies.

I questioned Dudley playing PF when they signed him. He may have the stats to support him but this does not seem to translate well to the court.

Although Tucker is not the best shooter in the world, I think he would have been a better PF candidate than Dudley to start the season. He is way more physical. However, now it's time to play Bender and Chriss at this position.

I like Dudley more than Tucker to be honest. Dudley plays very unselfish basketball and is one of the best 3pt shooters in this league.

Dudley was fine when he was taking the shots he was supposed to along with the occasional drive when the close out came late. But he added a few pounds, just like he did the last time he was in Phoenix, and that changed everything. And somewhere along the line he seemed to lose confidence in his outside shot.

He must really like Mexican Food I guess. The few additional pounds might have been by design so that he could hold up against the extra physicality of the PF spot but it just doesn't work for him. He's already too slow to add extra slowness to his game.

I doubt there's much of a market for him and while it's far too much money for a veteran cheerleader, he's still a great teammate and a smart player. We aren't hurting for cap room so I don't see a big deal with his presence on the roster.

I'm not a Tucker fan but IMO this is the best he's played in Phoenix and he's had far more value than Dudley this season. We still play him too much but that's on us not him. Dudley has killed us most nights and like Knight, we have been better when he hasn't taken the court.

If he drops a few pounds and goes back to filling his role within the offense, he can be a plus. But far too many times this season he's disrupted the offensive flow. He does it in a different way than ball pounder Brandon but the effect is the same.

Dudley can't hit 3 point shots off the bench.

I like Dudley but he is little more than a minimum type player.

I was criticized when I did not like the Dudley signing. It was and is not about him. He appears to be a great guy but I just don't see what he brings.

I wanted us to sign Amare to a one year deal. At least he would have been entertaining.

I suspect depressing would have been a more accurate term. And the Suns have a lot of young bigs they need to find time for, Amare would have done nothing but get in the way.

Entertaining?!? He is a shell of his former self and hard to watch last few times I watched him play.
