Marc Stein is reporting on ESPNews that he would expect the Lakers to ask the Suns for Amare, Marion and Johnson for Shaq.

Man if we don't get TMac because Colangelo isn't willing to package Marion and JJ and we don't get Kobe (or even Shaq) somehow something is wrong here.

He also said, you could expect the Suns to politely refuse.....



I still can't believe this Houston trade has gotton this much pub. It can't be true. There either is A LOT more to it, or the league should just contract the Magic

True, ESPN keeps on reiterating that the trade would obviously be rescinded if one of the Magic players included in the deal (who happen to be unprotected) are chosen in the Expansion draft.... Perhaps thats why none of the organizations have made anything official as of yet....

Doubt it. Trust me if it were that far along there would be plenty of media leaks (from both franchises) and this would be hitting the AP wire.

If this is a leak from the Magic to drive McGrady's price up, the Suns shouldn't get conned.

Marion and Johnson is too much, unless it's only those two and not any other decent prospect. And even if it's just those two, I'm not positive it's a good deal.

Don't let the Magic's scare tactics work! If someone's going to overpay for McGrady, let it be someone else.

Assuming White DOES go to Charlotte, that leaves Lampe as the only center on our roster. To me, that isn't comfortable AT ALL. Especially when there is no guarantee one of the FA centers is going to sign with us.

Voskuhl isn't great, but I'd say he's one of the few "veterans" in the league who is clearly worth his contract. If the Suns trade him away and have already dumped White, they have no one at center and no backup PF (unless you count Lampe, whose development in time for next season can't be assumed at this point). Realistically, they'd have to sign three free agents in order to have even a decent rotation next season. That's a pretty tall order, no matter how much cap room you have to work with.

Thats the ultimate question. Idon't remember im Gray as having a record with something like this as an "NBA Insider", he's just been a sideline reporter for as long as I can remember.
