fantastic game. Like I said last week,...the Rams may win the NFCW,,, Goff is coming in to his own with the game slowing for him and they now have WR's for him to throw to...and Gurley is a man on a mission this season.

I picked up Watkins this year. I'm not in a keeper league but I would have dumped him. I did not see this coming. Good move by you.

it was a guess...figured with a young qb they would focus on improving the run game...
also kept Fitz... that does not look like stellar GM work at this point, lol... but we all know Larrys value comes later, once palmer realizes he needs someone who catches the ball.

Got some points for Gurley tonight. 33.

An observation. The strength of the Rams was supposed to be their defense but their defense looked very mediocre against Brian Hoyer and a patchwork 49er offense. Maybe it's the rivalry thing but makes you wonder. The Rams have a good offense but their defense doesn't seem to be as good, Seahawks offense looks putrid, ours is inconsistent at best. 49ers offense looked good today but their defense was awful tonight. In short, this division is pretty much up for grabs. I suspect we're going to beat up on each other quite a lot.

Rams' fans should feel good about their team. If we were to play them on a neutral field, I would think that Vegas would have LA as a 3 point favorite.

The Rams are a legitimate playoff contender and could possibly win the NFC West.

The main reason is how they have stabilized their offensive line, which allows them to run the ball with Todd Gurley and to give just enough protection to Jared Goff, who has been given a whole host of talented receivers.

The second main reason is that they hired Wade Phillips as their DC, a move that I and some other here were hoping the Cardinals would make. The Rams' front 7 is very talented. The back end of their defense is a little suspect, but Phillips will help them improve.

How far they will go will most likely depend on Goff. When I was studying his tapes at Cal, I compared him to Kevin Kolb and I still do. He has a bad habit of drifting backwards under pressure which makes it very difficult for the offensive tackles to ride the DEs wide of the pocket when Goff is essentially deepening the pocket.

The 49ers wound up with the #3 and the #21 picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, neither of which they used on a QB. They passed on Mahomes and Watson at #3. That may come back to haunt them, although rumor has it that they want to make a strong push to sign QB Kirk Cousins, if possible. Regardless, they should have a crack at drafting Sam Darnold or one of the other top QBs in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Their defense is chock full of early first round picks and yet the Rams scored 41 points on them at home. Their young DC, Robert Saleh, seemed a little over his head at this point. It's surprising that like the Cardinals they didn't hire an experienced DC, especially with an offensive minded HC who calls the plays.

In a van...down by the river.
Rams offense is legit and will only get better. Worst to first.

HOWEVER...our once very good 4-3 defense is suddenly(overnight) a soft 3-4 friggin mess. Of course being 2-1 is great and Goff is rolling and points are being scored from everywhere.....but I HATE bad defense. Anointed genius DC Son of Bum needs to pull his head out of arse and get this thing together. Lack of ideal 3-4 personnel is part of the problem but that's no excuse.

I miss G.Williams already. No sarcasm. Did i mention that i HATE when my team can't play a lick of defense? We may be worse than the Saints on D. Rams will have to average 40 ppg just to stay close.

Rams looked good but I have to say that I was expecting more from their D with Wade Philips as coach.

I love Thursday games and the color rush uni's.

If Fitz retires next year, I'd like us to throw some money at Sammy Watkins (if he stays healthy) .. I love that kid.

I'm not buying into legitimacy of Rams yet. Give them a real defense to play against and we'll see. Rams defense looked awful last night.

Is it just me or were the Rams' color rush uniforms the least hideous so far? Also, that game was really entertaining.

I am worried though. The front seven for both teams were dominant in short yardage situations at times and I think both were going against offensive lines better than the one we are rolling out there right now.

I don’t think Wade will help them improve this year. They have a talented front FOUR, but their ILBs like Ogletree(who I think is very overrated) & Barron have a lot to be desired as evidenced by the Rams being gashed in the run game by both the Skins & 9ers. They struggle disengage off blocks due to their frame. Don’t see that changing anytime soon unless they draft a ILB high.

I’m not buying into the Rams, YET. Remember, the only competent team they played so far, they lost to at home. They look better than us no doubt, but as far as a playoff contender & winning the division? I’ll put a hold on that until next year. Seattle will crank it up within the next couple of weeks.

Most troubling aspect about that game is both Goff and Hoyer look like far better qb's than Palmer does right now.

The 49ers only gave up 12 to Seahawks. Some sense of legitimacy in that.
