I hope it was mostly bowles, but man... he had a TON of talent to work with last year. that can't be denied.

Yamon, can't deny that. But we did think we were going to lose a step after Horton. Predictions are like erections, we can predict them, but once we start drinking... :D

Pretty simple amigo, we almost hired Horton as the Head Coach. When we didn't we thought we would see a dramatic loss in our defense, Horton held the best red zone percentage in the League. BA came in, our Offense did better, but the Defense was still the glue through the transition.

But yeah..

Seahawks are just crazy good. Ridiculous that they have Harvin now and just imagine how much more dangerous they will be after they utilize him more....

I guess we could pretend they didn't just dismantle a good team. Either that or we could hope that Green Bay is very overrated. But I think the Packers will make the playoffs so yes, I'm very impressed by the Seahawks performance straight out of the gate.

No one is suggesting we just mail in the season but this is a damned good Seattle team. Like any of us, they could get derailed by injuries or off the field issues but right now, they look to be a tough team to beat. For a defensive juggernaut, this is starting to look like a pretty scary offense especially if they can keep Harvin on the field. They have great depth behind Lynch which should keep him fresh and Wilson finally has some weapons to throw to. The best thing about their offense the past few years was how few mistakes they made. They should still be mistake free but now they're a real threat to score on each possession too.

There are a lot of years where the Super Bowl team is just a decent team that got lucky/hot at the right time. Last year that wasn't the case. The Seahawks were clearly the most dominant team in the league and one game into the season, they look to be even better this time around. I hope they don't win another game this year but if I were a betting man, my money would be on them to cover each week.

that was ridiculously impressive....I just keep reminding myself that green bays defense has been slipping for several years now and their o-line is depleted by injuries......

One advantage, on defense, the Cardinals have over the Packers, and just about every other NFL team is their ability to stop/limit the run, and that is paramount when you play Seattle. They go un-noticed (Williams/Ta'Amu) for the most part, but do a great job in stopping the run.

can't stop Colin Kapernick, can't stop Russell Wilson, can't stop the zone read, can't stop misdirection plays, when is Dom Capers going get the axe in Green Bay?

Seattle did look good last night. Their offense had a lot of different looks and packages they worked out of. We definitely have our work cut out for us when we play them.

BA will have to come up with some solid offensive ideas to make it work.

Last year it looked bad going into Seattle, but BA and staff had the team prepared.

Very interested to see how we come out to start the season. Slow and build up momentum or fast and try to keep it all going?

I am not at all advocating we ignore the game. My point is that the general tenor of some of these posts is "Seattle just destroyed the Packers, we stand no chance of beating them and getting to the Superbowl."

Is Seattle good? Yes. Are they infallible? Hell no. The Packers are overrated and McCarthy has long been figured out in this league. Their defense is awful, just like last year. Packers fans have been downplaying Rajis injury and that was clearly a mistake.

I still feel weird about how good Seattle is. The only real superstars on their roster are Lynch and Sherman. Wilson is ridiculously efficient and superb at running Poodle Pete's system. But I do still believe from top to bottom we have more TALENT on our roster. The question is, can we outsmart the Poodle and get our talent to work within our system? Ultimately that is going to determine how far we go. How badly the Hags demolished an overrated and injured Packers squad doesn't determine our fate whatsoever.

I think a lot of people feel that we have no chance of getting to the Superbowl with or without the Seahawks in the picture. I don't think they watched that game and all of a sudden called the season over.

With the way our defense took 3 major hits & possibly four for awhile I thinks it's a pipe dream thinkin the Cards can get to the SB this year...unless Palmer turns into the 2nd coming of Kurt Warner in his last 2 1/2 years.

We do have a possibility of a playoff berth but I'm skeptical of that as well because of those losses & a what appears a tough schedule.

Saw this today and thought it was funny. Came from some bitter Bronco fans, but I wanted to share!

Pipe dreams do happen.:) But I agree, I don't see us competing for the Superbowl this season. I look at this Chargers team and to me they are typical of many of the opponents on our schedule - playoff level perhaps but not likely to win it all. If we can't beat them at home, I see us struggling to win a quarter of our games. But if we handle them with relative ease, I'll start thinking we have playoff potential.

Man am I glad we didn't draft Clinton Dix... Two awful tackles granted one on Lynch but awful none the less and now a sure fired dropped int ughhhh

Yeah watching the game this guy looks terrible. The honeybadger is half his size and 10X the tackler.

I thought the Seahawks looked great - both sides of the ball, a little average on ST. If you replace Wilson with a lesser QB, you end up with the Steelers of years past - which really is a compliment.

The Packers defense looked like crap - good players, sloppy team play and tackling. Offense didn't adjust to the backup tackle play, like watching us not adjust to having backup tackles on an island when Whiz was in charge. I think they tank this year with Chicago and Minnesota coming out ahead of them.
