no going hunting

said my piece, Now Matty has to finish the deal.

I got an Elk tag in 6a, hunt starts Friday, Woo Hoo. I'm heading out to roll in some elk poop and hoping the Wind, snow gets plenty miserable and runs off the weak minded humans. I'm going for the record but will promise meat. a lot of meat.

So I confirmed my position, love my Cardinals and ASU, will laugh about the youtube video of me as cute chick roboticcly talking about Matt Leenart and the U-S-C.

I am flawed, but I like me, If Matty fails on the field I will regress, take my lumps, be a man about it. but if you see an Elk running with middle aged fat disabled vet hangin like a necklace, taking bites out of his neck, near flagstaff, that would be me.....

And i like my chances..... I knocked down a 1200 pounder in 93... dressed loaded and had one back in Pinetop by noon opening morning, by myself 1 year. I'll assess proper, execute and do what it takes at my sport. fair and square .like the Cardinals Fight Song. no Whining.

And, it starts.

You trying to make Thesmel go postal? ;)

I'm still not buying that statement. Some people respond differant ways to criticism & need to be taught with differant approaches. I think Leinart needed a coach to believe in him as a player...not saying it's right. I hope he proves us all wrong.

Thesmel's gettin ready for his first start in 2 years.

have not faultered

I know what i know, and trust what I see. many crap has come and gone, I'm still standing, cheering My Cardinals, I wish we would have embraced , fed and nurtured and harvested a championship or 5,
but no we can not stay the course- follow the plan- FINISH!

Whiz should be the longest tenured Cardinal Coach in history somewhere around this next game- the oldest NFL franchise Mind you. But we are much farther behind now- then when he took over.

it is just the damned truth. Give the 1925 cursed championship back to pottsville, and bring Denny back as GM.

Thesmel's gettin ready for his first start in 2 years.

Matt Leinart failed in Arizoan because of Matt Leinart. It's easy ti sit back and say Whiz picked the wrong guy but it's very obvious the team didn't respect, or want to play for/with Leinart. Jeff George was as talented as any QB in the league but he was a terrible leader, crappy teammate, and players didn't respect him. If the team doesn't respond to the QB, then you don't have a QB. Whether it was true, or not, Leinart was seen as a prima donna, whiner, party boy. There was not one player that spoke out on his behalf after he was released, or in the years since. Sure Derek Anderson stunk, but he really wasn't brought in to be a starter either. Leinart never took over as a leader and DA was all that was left. I don't blame Whiz one bit for that decision.

I'm not sure how obvious that was...That no one wanted to play with Leinart. We can draw conclusions as to why no players went to the media, but that doesn't mean it's true. Rarely does that happen, especially for a player that didn't get enough playing time to build the comradery back up with the starting unit.
I knew Whiz had it in for Leinart when he refused to name him the starter and he used Warner as a way to diminish Leinart in the media. Basically saying that he didn't deserve to be named the starter unless he took them to the SB ( Warner)...Something to that effect.

accept that

I respect and accept that point of view. Look on our website under coaches and see that Big Ben is still listed as a great Whiz accomplishment, against Whiz's will! It just is!

Leinart was not a prima Donna, Whiner or party boy on the field. He was a damned good QB. A heisman trophy winner and a part of 4 NCAA Championship teams! destroyed Elways Pac 10 recods with 99 TD's to elways 77! A rookie pace of over 4000 yards for the Cardinals, replacing HOFFER Warner- and Matt earned it.

I really don't know what people were watching? I'm sorry i'm repeating again, I just think his performance in 2010 preseason was elite QB performance, proved times 10000 when former pro bowler DA went to crap on the same team. On the field I have seen better than Leinart, Rodgers. but Eli-Flacco-Ryan-Vick-Kolb- no way -

Now will he start out on the texans hot, probably not but just as likely will have a QB rating over 100 average by the end of the year, prepared for the playoffs. He hasa no glaring weaknesses at QB skill sets. And Kubiak is gonna school Whiz and graves about NFL QB's.

What is this based on? Where is the evidence? Does the team being wrong about wanting to go with Derek Anderson force Whis's hand to do so?

THESMEL - It's all up to Matty now. Either he's going to do it or he's not. His whole career and how he's remembered might just come down to the next few weeks.

Good luck this weekend, BTW.

Matt got the hell away from Whiz, all Matt did was come out try to make completions, Did that poster really say that? Folks seen some of the best QB play ever witnessed in the 2010 preseason, While Whiz stated He already seen everything Matt can do, and Matt was the starter so he only needed a few touches, 78% completion rate 110+ Qb rating while negative yards in the run game under constant blit on this horrible. And team, media, fans dump on Matt- lead by Whiz.

We let our aaron Rodgers walk out the door, like the biggest dtupids in history, Mattty and the texans should beat GB in the SB.

I find it funny that you keep refering to the 2010 preseason, as your basis for ML being a great QB.

Career stats say 340- 595 57.1% 14 TD 20 INTs. and a career passer rating of 70.8.

That doesnt look like the next Aaron Rodgers to me.

Oh please God. Please do not let hollywood Matt Leinart go out and light it up for TEX. Because if he does, we will never, ever, hear the end of this story. It'll be like the nameth draft choice, forever part of Cardinal lore.

I don't think you'll get this prayer answered, at least not fully. He's going into a situation not unlike what he had at USC. Unless Foster and Tate both go down, I can't see him being anything other than fairly successful. Smith is doing okay in SF mostly because of a strong defense and a good running game. Houston has that and more. It's an almost fail-proof environment for Matty. He may not put up a lot of yards but he'll have a high completion percentage and his team will win.

Typically I don't root against ex Cards players.

There are exceptions of course:

Simeon Rice - not just because of his armpit comment (he wasn't completely wrong), but because of his Pat Tillman comment and his lack of physical play against the run.

Matt Leinart - We finally take a QB in the top 10 of the draft and he turns out to be a lazy self centered prima dona. Hope he falls flat on his face.

We do seem to be the exception to the rule. Lomax 2nd round, Plummer 2nd round, Warner Free Agent. Our first round picks, Stouffer and Leinart not only didn't give us a winning season neither one started an entire season.

Here's a bit of trivia relevant to today. Two of the other QBs taken in the first round the same year as Stouffer will be on the field in SF today.

Chris Miller was the 13th pick in the first round and Jim Harbaugh the 26th overall in 1987.

I think many would attribute a "game-manager" approach to be because of Leinart but Schaub's numbers this year have been much along those lines too. 7/10 games he's thrown the ball 30 or fewer times and 8/10 games he has less than 300 yards.

The Texans aren't asking for nearly as much production from the QB spot this year so Leinart shouldn't really be much of a drop off from 2011 Schaub.

I just think the Texans made a big mistake in not having DA on their roster.

He's obviously a better team leader and in this time of crisis as the number one goes down it is all about who likes you and how popular you are right?

I have heard a lot of things about Leinart but on most accounts, he wasn't considered lazy.

Leinart's poor work habits were legendary when he was first with the Cardinals. Once he matured and stayed away from the hot tub, his main problem went from work ethic to his overall physical skills to play the position. He became the king of the check down in Arizona, refusing to hold the ball, not being able to process quickly or deliver the ball in a timely fashion. He was often wild high and just plain wild.

The cold hard fact is that our idiot coach cut him before we could finally see him have a full season after learning under a hof qb and finally being handed the reigns. There is no way anyone will ever convince me that leinart wouldn't have been more successful than Derek freaking Anderson! Whiz deserves to be fired for that! Maybe the dumbest ever personell move fromma cards head coach. Of course leinart is going to do well because he will be given a true chance with a coach that supports him, not one that seems to thrive on putting QBs in positions to fail !!

I don't see Matty failing in Houston. I am not saying he is going to look like Rogers however he will look better than any of our QBs. Of course I think any of our QBs would probably look better playing for another team simply because they would be placed in a position to succeed.

Ok true. He didn't have the best work ethic his first year. After his rookie year, his work habits greatly improved.

Thanks for the assist Mulli.

I don't think ML was ever a gym rat. Maybe calling him lazy was a bit of an overstatement but when you are competing against Warner then it's impossible to put in enough work.
