Hold onto the ball, Murray!
Kurt Warner.I'd take 52 year old Trent Green right now, over anyone else on the roster not named Kyler Murray.

Prepare to be disappointed - the Cards have no leverage and the entire league knows it.
Who did he replace? ;-)Kurt Warner.

That would still be a $7M cap hit.
You're preaching to the choir - both Hop and Budda should have big value. I have no faith in our team to execute to that end, which is why I'm rationalizing getting 59 for Hop as some sort of win. Both are paid for under the present Cap, and the CARDS don't have to give away assets to make ends meet.
Their leverage is simply that teams may want the talent, and they can then decide whether the offer is sufficient.
What, for example, is more critical to the Bills - having a 1a or 1b wideout or a second-round pick?

That said, you don't win by getting rid of all your good players. The likely talent exodus of this offseason is stunning.
Bidwill is toxic. Theres a reason why our stars want to leave or retire and it isn’t because of contract issues. We have the worst graded facilities in the league. Only team that let players pay for good. Nutrition is part of the players training and off-season routine yet they charge players for it. Knowing damn well most of their careers are short. Pitiful poverty franchise.
They can convert Josh Allen's Option of $8 million to a signing bonus and save about 6 million there. That would still be a $7M cap hit.
I won't feel bad or good about a former Texan making a playoff run or not.... oh snap, I'm a Cardinal fanAt this point … just do it. Will be sad to see him go, but will enjoy watching him make a playoff run with Buffalo.
Fwiw, Hollywood is 5 years younger and was much cheaper and hadn’t been missing time like Hop.Wish we could get more when freaking Hollywood Brown netted a 1st round pick... but I'll take it. Just get it done and let's look to the draft.
McCoy is injury prone and always has been. Sad but true. With our line, no way he plays 4 straight games. He should be on the staff, not the roster.I actually don't think McCoy is horrendous. He has a sharp mind towards the game but not the physical skills to take advantage of that. Hopefully he can somehow stay healthy because the other options are much worse.
Not at a $30 million cap hit this year and at $25 million next year.We keep hearing rumors on a Hopkins trade but nothing has happened. I'm not sure if anything actually will. The alternative is just keep him on the team and let him stay unhappy. The dumbest move would be to cut him.

Why would the Facebook gods be against the Cardinals? The numbers are on our side. There is only one DHop but there are MANY WR's who play for the contending teams. Nothing is certain but the odds are with us, even if the FB gods aren't.

Not a bad way of looking at it. The Brissett's of the world aren't worth anywhere near what they're getting. I'll add on and say go for a later-round young gun QB every year and churn the position. Keep around some kind of savvy vet for the experience. There's your QB room.Doesn't really matter who the backup is. I think you lose either way.
Brissett is considered on of the better backups and just got $10m per yet still lost with a talented Brown's team.
My own thoughts on backups is get one that can run. The chances of any backup beating you with their arm is slim, but get one who can run gives you a better shot in my opinion.
Sure, younger... but nowhere near as good. And cheaper for a very limited time. Next year we're going to have to pay the guy or be looking for a new #1 for Kyler, which is even more complicated because they're BFFs.Fwiw, Hollywood is 5 years younger and was much cheaper and hadn’t been missing time like Hop.
While I've loved it when teams did this in the past (GB during the Holmgren era comes to mind), teams don't keep 3 QBs like the used to.Not a bad way of looking at it. He should absolutely be on the roster. He is the better QB than the other two quarterbacks(allegedly) on the roster. Hopefully he somehow makes it four to six games or however long Kyler is out. If he does get injured, well I guess we watch David Blough.McCoy is injury prone and always has been. Sad but true. With our line, no way he plays 4 straight games. He should be on the staff, not the roster.
Cards not in the driver’s seat. They’re going have to eat some of that salary to do a deal.Buffalo has $5.3M in cap space. I don't see how they can make this deal.
