Great article, thanks for sharing.

Every year, teams hire recycled head coaches, then continue to fail. The key is finding an Arians or a Bowles, somebody fresh who really has the talent to excel, but just hasn't gotten his shot yet. We're about to see 6-8 coaching positions turn over as usual, and as usual, a bunch of Rex Ryans, Jeff Fishers, etc, will land most of the "new" jobs. And in most cases, they'll suck. Again.

Thank goodness Michael B & Steve Keim jumped at the chance to hire Arians. And now look how his #1 pupil is doing. It's awesome.

I am extremely proud of the manner in which Todd Bowles has taken over the reins in New York. To me he has already proven to be the man that BA knew was ready for the challenge.

What's more, I am equally proud of how Betcher has assimilated himself into the DC position for the Cards in replacing Bowles. While he does things slightly differently than Bowles did, he has none the less installed his own defense, and has diligently been able to exchange pieces (players), to get the right mix into each game to counter the opponent's offense. I had fully expected to see a few more hiccups from his defense this year, being a new DC. Yet another move by BA that has been seamless in its productivity. What an amazing year.

It really does speak to the quality of the organization when assistant coaches move to the HC position and enjoy the success Bowles has had this season. Nice to see.

Beyond the sun.
It would be sadly coincidental if Bowles gets his team playing well in the second half of the season, finish with a 10-6 record, but miss the playoffs.

meanwhile, they lose today and the Steelers win and the NY papers will all be calling for his head tomorrow.

Jets blew their last scoring opportunity

They have to score a TD here to make the playoffs.

I want them to win so Pitt doesn't make it in.

oh yeah... Bowles is going to get slaughtered by the NY press tomorrow. Sad too. That team was much better then anyone expected them to be.

Fitzpatrick didn't want to go to the playoffs, so he gave it to the Steelers. 3 consecutive interceptions to end the game, and the Steelers are in.
