Only time will tell, but I think Haley is getting WAY to much flack. He took over a team that was really quite horrible and last year won then AFCW with it. They might not be a good footbal team, but they've only played two games this year. Give it some time--he's going to beat some teams he's got no business beating before the year is out....and he'll do it without arguably the most explosive RB in the NFL, a first-round playmaking safety and a terrible QB.

There's a lot of things wrong in KC, Haley isn't one of them.

It is ironic that a lot of the same people who gave CKW a pass for the defensive melt down in the 2009 playoffs and blamed the players, the overall fiasco of last season, and this year's horrendous defense are piling on Haley after only 2 games this year.

No, the HC is obviously responsible for a lot. But we're literally two games into the season. Isn't it a little early to be crucifying a guy that won the division last year? Yeah, he took advantage if a weak division, but he also doesn't have a lot to work with--he didn't then and he certainly doesn't now.

Is chaulk it up to the "ifyouleaveAZyou'regarbage" syndrome that fans fall prey to, except it seems to be league-wide...including at the chiefs FO. It's too strange.

Btw, DJ, got the tix today. Thx!!

I think there's some of that but I also think it's in part a reaction to all the people that credited Haley over Whiz for our Super Bowl season.

I think Haley created a no win situation. Last year was a mirage, they caught all the right teams at the right time. Realistically, the Chiefs were probably just the 3rd best team in that division and with the loss of Weis and a few key injuries they may well be the worst team in the NFL this season. I doubt that fans (or Pioli) will be reasonable enough to look at that weak roster and realize it is not Haley's fault.

Todd Haley ==== most overrated person on this board.

The reason he's being talked about getting fired is his 1st year they were terrible. They gave him top notch coordinators in Weis and Crennel and the team does well. Weis leaves and they're terrible again.

CKW goes to the SB. Defies the SB loser odds and makes the 2nd round of the playoffs. Warner leaves and the Cards are terrible again. So the fire CKW posts aren't unreasonable? :)

Todd Haley can feel free to stop picking his nose on National Television. He can also stop screaming profanity at his offense because his QB, Palko, has an inaccurate noodle arm.

His offense pretty much stunk it up before Palko too.

So true. Can you imagine the heart attacks people would have if Whiz cursed at his players on the sideline like that?

And talk about a dink and dunk offense. UGh. So happy to see the Pats run up the score at the end.

I agree with Larry Johnson, I wouldn't want a head coach whose only sport played was golf in college.

Vegas, baby, yeah!
I can see bringing in Haley if it serves a bigger purpose.

The team, front office, coaches, and players, must all be on the same page. And it seems like we got lucky when DG was HC, because he knew how to evaluate talent. Couldn't go all the way, but he knew talent.

DG leaves, CKW comes in, and generally using the talent that is on the roster, gets us to the SB and then to the Playoffs. Haley was a part of that - but since then, the team has been dismantled.

The most immediate thing we can do is get someone who can evaluate talent and bring them in. Then we have to have a GM who can referee between the talent evaluator and CKW. If that's done, then maybe we should think about bringing Haley back.

If it isn't done, it doesn't make a difference - CKW is engineer toast.

I don't find this comment relevant either.....sorry I couldn't help but vent on that.

Cause I could care less about your opinion of the other posters on the board, FYI.

Yes, of course a post about Todd Haley is irrelevant to a Todd Haley thread.

And I don't care that you don't care what other people care about on the board! :D

Am I the only one who doesn't think it's a foregone conclusion that Haley will be fired? He lost his best offensive and best defensive players for pretty much the whole season, and still managed to rally his team to a winning streak after a horrible start. Not saying it was pretty by any means, and don't see them winning much the rest of the year, but hard not to look at the injuries as a key factor in their season this year.
