All those arguments we had over Kasper and Green says it here

With Fitzgerald out, the starting three receivers are Boldin, Gilmore and Kevin Kasper.

hmm Green 9 playoffs in what 10-11 years to Mac who probably couldnt win coaching a pee wee football squad. Mac buries kasper and green starts him with 1 pick unsigned and last years 1st rounder hurt.

You act as though Kasper is starting due to talent. Get over him he sucks regardless of who the coach is. Give it 4 weeks and he will be buried on the deoth chart once again where he belongs.

The guy has done nothing BUT produce. In 4 games in 2002 Kasper managed to equal all of Gilmore's stats in 2003. The fact remains that Mac and Sully were crap, and that we finally have a coach who recognizes who our best players are.

2003 Gilmore
GS No Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ 40+ FD
10 17 208 12.2 32 2 3 0 12

2002 Kasper
GS No Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ 40+ FD
4 15 180 12.0 24 3 3 0 11

Nice try but stats during a four game stretch dont prove a hill of beans bro. especially considering they were games where we were behind and were constantly passing.

Kasper produced during that stretch. True. But lots of WRs could have in that position.

Kasper is only in a starters position not because this almighty coaching staff saw his talent. Its because of an injury and a rookie WR who is yet to be under contract. So dont fool yourself. He will be buried on the depth chart or even cut come sept. 12th and rightfully so!

Kind of like last year, when Gilmore was the #1 reciever, but couldn't do jack, even with Boldin drawing ALL of the attention?

I compared him to Gilmore because he was the golden boy that Mac chose over Kasper last year, and was our NUMBER ONE reciever going into last year, but still couldn't equal the numbers Kasper put up in 4 games.

He may get buried by Quan, Bryant and Fitz, but I do think he is our 4th best reciever by far, and is fully capable of being the #3 guy in our 3wr sets.

he isnt as good a WR as Nathan Poole. His only advantage is his speed. Poole is the odd man out for that reason alone. Its a shame too.

I just dont think Kasper is all that good. Sorry!

I think Kasper has a place on the team--and on the field. He's a good slot receiver.

Ummm....speed is a pretty big part of being a good WR. And speed is not Kasper's ONLY advantage. The dude catches everything thown his way.

Poole made a great catch for us, but he is still a scrub, and will be lucky to make the team. To me Kasper is a lock for the 4th wr, leaving McCadely, Gilmore, Poole, and Newhouse to compete for the 5th and 6th slot.

I haven't been involved in the previous discussions, but Kasper has never disappointed me. When he played, he caught balls and took hits. I wondered why he was on the sidelines last year.

Just proves why you do not understand the whole Kasper debate. When I dont understand a debate I stand on the sidelines until I can come up with a thought or theory. Or some snide remark lol

Gilmore has no bearing on Kasper. Never has never will.

They both suck.

California,

Have you ever watched Poole? The guy is a precise route runner, physical, strong, and also does not drop balls.

He is a better all around WR. Unfortunately for him hes considered to slow which really is a shame. The guy is clutch.

The Cards should keep Kasper and Poole and get rid of McAddley and Gilmore. I've always been a great believer in substance over potential and potential is the only thing Gilmore and McAddley have going. Gilmore is a blazing rocket but can't catch a football and McAddley has cheap parts. Speed doesn't mean a thing in football if it's your only atribute.

Shane, what do you have against Kasper? I think he has always played well, just because Mac put him low on his depth chart doesn't mean he can't play.

I am no fan of Kasper either, he's nothing special to me. He is another one of the players who is overrated by Cardinal fans for some unknown reason.

I also believe Poole is a better all around receiver and the only area Kasper has him on is speed.

Well, Kasper is stronger, faster, catches everything, and has actually practiced with the team during the offseason. True Poole is an impressive 6'2" 204lbs which absolutely dwarfs Kasper's 6'1" 202lbs, but I would be willing to bet that Kaspers 43.5 inch vertical leap would make up for that

you realize that you guys are agruing about two guys who likely wouldn't even be in the NFL if it weren't for the Cardinals - man do we need training camp to get here fast - because a Kasper v Poole argument is for the dogs.

Haha...you are right. Until our "depth" chart doesn't include either of these guys we suffer from a lack of depth.

After training camp, we will see who is one the roster and since Green has no problem cutting dead weight, we can stop this bickering.

I wonder how many drops Gilmore has before he is gone?

That's right: I think that Fred Wakefield is better than Dennis Johnson! What're you going to do about it?!

I wouldn't be to quick to count Gilmore out. He looked a lot better in practice this year in terms of catching the rock and his is very fast.

If he learns to catch the ball he has a legitimate shot.

Why

is everyone assuming Fitz won't be in camp?
Johnson is definitely out, for now, so that leaves Kasper and Poole. IMHO
Don't think they won't get Fitz.'s deal done by the end of the first week.

The question is will he be able to do it in game situations and will he be able to get open. He didn't seem to be very adept at either option last year.
