Tom Gordon fits into our bullpen very well

Because he is garbage. Our pen was actually getting it together for a while, but after getting torched by Chicago they must have remembered Mad Max had a shot at his first Major League win, so it naturally it was time to resort to their losing ways. Obviously, Tom Gordon drew the short stick in the "whose going to go in and immediately screw this potential win up" drawing before the 7th inning.

Bee-you-tih-full.

And we walk in a run. I hate this team. The NFL season cannot start soon enough. And no sooner than I type this, it's 4-1. I give up.

I don't think I've seen a worse managing job in a while. That he stuck with Gordon after Sherzer pitched lights out, then stubbornly refused to lift the lefty after he walked in the tying run against Cameron. Unbelievable! :mulli:

Why wasn't Pena ready to come in that inning when it became obviously necessary!?

We need to lead the league in complete games at this point. Why even use the pen? UGH.

I think we'd be better off with a pigpen than a bullpen

I think they should just randomly start selecting fans from the crowd to give middle relief pitching a shot. I don't think I could do much worse, because if you're going to lose does it really matter if it's by one run or twenty?

Mark Grace n Steve Finley were better relievers.
