We all know the pathetic history of our team... That is why you would be lying if you said you didn't have some butterflies over the game tonight. History would suggest that, being handed this golden opportunity to essentially close out our division with a win tonight, that we would cough it up - on the National Stage...

A win tonight puts us 4 games up on everyone else (5 on the 9ers when you take into account head to head...). A win tonight, on MNF will force the rest of the football world to finally sit up and take notice.
A win tonight and suddenly, playoffs - with a home playoff game which, as we know, should mean a WIN for this team as they can beat anyone at home - are no longer a fantasy but worthy conversation... A win tonight and amazingly, we can actually discuss the potential of resting players in early-mid December!!

I will not be at peace at all today, until I know we have won this game... It is simply huge beyond anything this team has faced in over a decade... Wow!!!

Join, I am a bit nervous now, by the first quarter I will start to get scared. The fear of losing will build and will not subside until the final gun .

Tonight's game is more than just a game. It is a statement game.

We have a ton to lose and little to gain. (They'll say we beat the lowly niners who have lost 6 in a row)

We are expected to win and to win big to prove ourselves.

Win big, well that was expected. Lose and we are still the ...

I am worried about this game. However, in my gut I see us winning this game by 2 TDs.

Huge game tonight. Go Cards!!!!!!!!

Completely agree, we can't lay an egg in this one, it's a national game and we can all but wrap up the division by winning. This is an absolutely statement game for this franchise.

They're all statement games, at least for the next week.

This one is a test of mental toughness. Niners have a new coach trying to instill a new attitude, and they've had time to prepare. Good teams need to be able to get past that and just step on the necks of weaker teams. This week needs to be just like last week for the Cards.

Agreed I just mean that the rest of the country sees our record and thinks well that division stinks, same old cards. They don't know we only have 2 wins in our division.

So if we go out on national tv and lay an egg, everyone will think, same old Cards. If we go out and play the way we play, maybe we'll change some minds.

I look at it this way. THe Cards have smashed 3 pretty good teams at home in Miami,Buffalo, and Dallas. They beat the Niners at their place. They played 2 of the better teams, Was and Car, in the NFC to close games in their park. The Cards will have to lay an egg for this game to even be close. I can see them winning, something like 38-10.

I'm terrified. The "new qb starting" thing brought back too many horrible memories. Can't shake this yet.

Also, crdsfnmd beat on the Rackers drum so long he converted me. Do not. Repeat, Do Not -- let this game come down to a Rackers kick.

The Frank Gore beast intimidates me.

Agreed. I also am permanently scarred from Vinny Testaverde coming off the living room couch and lighting us up.

We need to bring lots of pressure. Gore will get his yards but we can't have him breaking the long one. Play smart and hope we aren't too hyped up or we will get fooled with reverses etc.

GO CARDS!
