You know what, if this team signs Robinson and he is healthy and only if they sign Robinson... Tony Martin wouldn't be a bad #3 WR if Sullivan gathered he still has some gas in the tank. Yes, I too would rather see Robinson with Muhammed and our young WRs.

Do we keep 6 receivers - at most?

assume mcaddley, gilmore kasper are locks to make roster. assume we get a veteran like robinson. We will probably draft 2 receivers - a pure receiver and a receiver/punt returner...so there are the six...this means poole, parker and soliday are either cut - or maybe one on the practice squad.

problem is we need the punt return guy- and he will probably be the 2nd receiver we pick..

See your logic

Your right, we can't keep all the WRs and with Robinson if signed I wouldn't want to sacrifice a young guy for Martin. We could draft a late round CB to return punts ect...

I agree, I would not want to sign Martin and risk losing one of our young WR's full of potential for a guy who will be here 1/2 years max. Much the same way I feel about T.J. (note the "Why keep TJ" thread).

I think we assumed kasper is on the roster but they did not announce the deal..I think someone on the cardinals indicated he was signed..but I cannot remember exactly..

When we picked him up, we picked up his contract from Seattle which picked it up from Denver. He is signed through 2003.

I think Poole and Solliday may have more potential at WR than Kasper. Kasper probably has the edge over both of them on Special Teams though.

If Kasper is anymore than our #4 or #5 WR we are in trouble.

Oh and again with the Muhammed thing...is he for sure getting released or is this just fan speculation? He currently isn't on any of the lists as an UFA.

rumor on Muhammed...I would not be surprised if he was cut..

they signed kevin dyson (new signee), ricky prohl (new signee), and they had isaac byrd as veterans.. plus a bunch of young guys and steve smith gets a roster spot as a returner...and I thing muhammed is about the highest paid of the bunch.

If we had a DL and a pass rush. I would probably draft Newman. He can go Off, Def and ST. He could be a #2 WR, A nickle back and return ko and punts.

However, as tempting as that would be I would pass because we need a pass rush. We go DE and DT on our first two picks or two out of our top three. WR probably #2 or #3. My hope is #3 for a WR and DE/DT or DT then DE in 1&2.

Can't wait till next weekend...

Huh? Poole has absolutely NO potential. A tall skinny slow receiver. Solliday you could argue, but Poole is not an NFL receiver and he will not make the team.

On Muhammed, I can understand the logic..although Byrd is an unrestricted free agent right now(at least according to The Sportig News--they are normally on top of those things). It would be nice to have Muhammed on the team especially if we can sign Robinson.

On Poole, I think Poole runs better routes and from what I've seen he has pretty good hands, IMO he'd be a good possesion WR....I would have liked if both Poole and Solliday had gone to NFL-Europe for practice.

On my Avatar...thats "Stichez" my narcotic detector dog! He's a big goofball but he has a good nose and works his butt off for me.

Off topic, but what the heck...

I was never much of a Lab fan until I got one. Smart, funny, hard workers, and they soak up new training like sponges! My daughter got us ours as sort of a summer bonus for all the baby-sitting she did for some friends who breed labs...

Cool dog :)

OT Bad news: I talked to my Dad this morning and one of his dogs died today. Every morning my Dad and his wife take one of the dogs for a walk in the park early AM. This dog, Lovey, had a heart attack and passed away. She was old - about 15 yrs - but a sweetheart. I am bummed.

I'm sorry to hear that...losing a pet is like losing family...
