No, but seriously, though...idiots who completely degrade soccer as filth in an idiotic manner as it is clearly not appropriate since soccer is not filth are filth and need not pollute our nice football board.

Easy to make a statement that isn't true, huh?

I mean, honestly...filth? Where the hell do you get THAT statement? So you don't like soccer. Oh well. Maybe it's because you can't play what's probably one of the top 2 most endurance-testing pro sport. Could you have made a statement like, 'look guys, I don't appreciate this being on the football board. Skkorp, can you please move the thread?' Yeah, I guess, but that would take class, politeness and intelligence.

Sorry if you take this as completely insulting but, as a rational and thinking human being and a soccer fan, I found your statement to be more than moronic and less than even drivel.

Even though Beckham might have lost a step he is still better than 97% of the other players and that is why mancherster united is the team to beat and will be the team to beat for years to come. Endurance sport? Gimme a break......cross country skiing is a damn endurance sport too....they are both boring as hell. Big difference is the worlds morons don't all flock to see cross country skiing and riots don't ensue and folks don't die due to a bunch of drunken idiots who trample people.

On second though, it may not be soccer that I despise so much, it's probably their fans. If that includes you, so be it.

This thread does NOT belong on the Cardinals section of this message board. If I wanted to click on a thread and read about soccer or any other 2nd rate sport(in America) then I'd go to the FIFA site or whatever dismal site allows that talk.

I don't take your post as an insult.....you'd be hard pressed to find a way to insult me, however, if you want to talk about moronic, you can talk about some idiot trying to defend a soccer post on a Cardinals board.

Move along.

Started out well...it isn't soccer that's the problem, it's the riotous fans...then had to turn around and insult me directly just for liking soccer...hmm...soccer+fans=hatred. Yeah, that's intelligent.

And, like I said, you're right it doesn't belong on this thread, but you could have used class (which, indeed, you seem not to have any) or intelligence (ditto), but you chose to be offensive instead. Oh well. And you kept the thread alive (even long before I started in), making it even worse.

But I forget. All folks on here aren't the cream of the crop. Some here are just less than ordinary schmucks with a computer and a keyboard and internet access. I can't expect everyone to be smart, considerate and resourceful. Oh well. Them's the breaks!

Do not insult me, 11, and other people who either were or are soccer players(sout i would have included you but i didnt know if you played or not). In what other sport do you run connsecutively 100 yards in a little over 90 minutes. In soccer you play defense and offense. Soccer injuries are the most common among any sport injuries. Soccer is also by far the most demanding and has the most die hard fans. If you screw up once your career is over and you are pretty much exiled from the country. All the fans are not idiots you are insulting hundreds of millions of people. BTW i believe your mouse did not move itself to this thread. IF you do not like it you didnt have to reply to it and you didnt have to look at it again. I do not mind that you disagree but it is another thing when you disrespect and degrade.

Uh, right. Hmm, yes, never mind. So much for only losing two games in a row once. So much for having a nearly perfect home record. So much for the Premiership title. Hell, our Champs League hopes are hurting right now!

Seriously, you are a moron. Not really an insult...just a fact. It is ok for YOU to throw around insults but when I return them it is wrong? Gimme a break, hypocrite.

As for intelligence....hah, comical at best YOU attempting insulting my intelligence.

But I forget. All folks on here aren't the cream of the crop. Some here are just less than ordinary schmucks with a computer and a keyboard and internet access. I can't expect everyone to be smart, considerate and resourceful. Oh well. Them's the breaks!

You definately hit the nail on the head with this comment......I'll just assume that you were seeing your face in the reflection off your monitor as you wrote it.

How bout you go find a clue and come back when you have one.

Again, for the less than educated......Soccer does not belong polluting a NFL Teams message board. If you wanna talk soccer I'm sure they'd be happy to hear from ya at pele.com, not here.

I'm a huge soccer fan and those that blast it either 1) don't understand the game 2) are afraid the game will catch on or 3) are xenophobes.

I'd watch International soccer over the NBA, Hockey and Golf to name three sports that get considerable US air time. In fact my wife and I have already planned our trip to Germany in 2006 for the World Cup--assuming of course the US qualifies.

Soccer players are among the best athletes in the world. Love or hate the game it takes extremely athletic and talented players to perform at the highest level.

The only thing I would agree with you on is that it doesn't belong in the Pro Football message board...still, you have to come across as ignorant, arrogant and an a$$ by insulting anyone that does follow the sport.

Thank you, Zeno. Another voice of reason might get this guy to find his own clue. Section 11 responded to his barbarian-type comments by mocking him lightly to try and get him to ease up. It didn't work.

"Again, for the less than educated......Soccer does not belong polluting a NFL Teams message board. If you wanna talk soccer I'm sure they'd be happy to hear from ya at pele.com, not here."

Okay, you've made your point in that soccer shouldn't be on the football forum. I CONCEDED THAT ALREADY, IDIOT!!! Have you once PMed or posted a message for Skkorp to get this thread moved? Hmm? If so I imagine it'd be done already. So much for the intelligent way out. And supposedly I'm the idiot? That's a laugh.

"Seriously, you are a moron. Not really an insult...just a fact. It is ok for YOU to throw around insults but when I return them it is wrong? Gimme a break, hypocrite."

It's okay for me to respond IN KIND. I'm not the one that shot my mouth off in a completely asinine manner about how soccer is crap and soccer fans are something akin to the scum of the earth. THAT'S insulting. I responded to THAT. It was an ignoramus post (sorry, I can only quote ONE post at a time here) and it had no business being on here, regardless of whether this is a football post, a soccer post or a frickin' Animal Kingdom post. If you're easily offended by insults try not insulting an entire sport and fan base so eggregiously that you cause people to become angry. Mock the sport, laugh at it, say you don't like it, but don't make unqualified statements of fact that it is stupid just because YOU say so.

My god, the arrogance of some people! And then YOU get mad when I respond in kind. Get this guy!

I don't know about soccer players being great athletes. I would say that basketball and football players are much better overall athletes. Basketball players are quite a bit more athletic than any soccer players.

I have always used one argument (though very hypothetical) with Soccer enthusiasts. If America actually cared about Soccer (which frankly America couldn't careless) we would dominate. Imagine Michael Jordan, Barry Sanders, or any other great American athlete playing soccer?

A couple statements are extremely off base with your post. If you watched any international soccer you would know that soccer players are far more superior athletes than baseketball players. America does care about soccer maybe not your generation but the one coming up does. Soccer is the most played youth sport throughout the country. Even if your generation did care we would still suck because of the international athletes. Such countires as Italy portugal and brazil will always be power houses due to the training they go through. 12 months out of the year they practice they live breathe and sleep soccer. I get frustrated with people who just write off soccer because of flat out ignorance. Watch a world cup and tell me you are not on the edge of your seat. The world cup event is by far one of the best sporting events in the world. It is in the top 3 with the Super Bowl and March Madness. Anyone who has actually watched the tournament agrees.

Hey dummy,

I wasn't saying that the game ENDED in a tie, I was saying that the game is ridiculously boring. I guess I didn't state that clearly enough because I'm so dumb.

Dummy.

Do us all a favor and don't sit there at your computer and flex you're keyboard muscles. Keep it civil. I was being humorous.

I used dummy as a substitute for profanity. I do like your little run on about the word though you must be very SMART. BTW i dont have keyboard muscles and for you to say the game is boring means you have watched a full game, correct? I do not mean an MLS or a pee wee game either i mean an actual meaningful game. Let me ask a question to everyone here who does not like soccer, do you like NASCAR? Answer truthfully.

I've never seen a soccer player jump over a basketball rim. You could ask any sports physiologist and they would tell you that basketball players are far superior athletes, since basketball requires a much higher level of athleticism.

And my generation (I'm only 23) did play a lot of soccer (I played for four years. I loved playing, but I think it is the most boring sport to watch. And I don't like NASCAR for the same reasons.

I don't write it off because of ignorance, I write it off because I think it is incredibly boring. I could careless who wins the World Cup just like 80%+ of this country. In this country, soccer is a fringe sport.

I'm sorry i did not mean actually your generation but the generation of most non soccer fans which is middle-aged. Soccer requires flexibility and tons of athleticism. I played for about 12 years and it took a toll. I am still recovering from some of my injuries. I remember section 11 saying he is a goalie so maybe you should ask him but i believe goalies need the most athleticism of any athlete. Soccer is all about conditioning. No Shaq could ever play soccer. Shaq only plays becuase of his height and weight. He doesnt need to work to play but in soccer every player no matter who it is has to train everyday. I know you disagree but i would also like to thank you for doing it reasonably. BTW if i got out of line with anything i said in this thread i am sorry.

AZCARDSFAN,

I'll grant that soccer players are in great CARDIOVASCULAR shape, but c'mon man, most soccer players are scrawny bean-pole lookin' people.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that certain sports are fun to play AND watch (Football, Baseball, Basketball etc.) others are only fun to play but BORING AS HELL to watch. Soccer comes to mind.

Hell, if you include enough beer even golf and bowling are fun to play but there isn't enough beer in the world to get me to sit down and watch them.

It's totally cool with me that we can agree to disagree about this, after all we both post here because we love the Cards ( is it September yet?). There's probably plenty of other things we agree on.

For example, just the other day I was telling Tango that I thought Carmen Electra and Selma Hayek would make a cute couple, and he said he preferred guys who looked like Carrot Top.

Sometimes you just got to let it go and agree to disagree.

Oh soccer players are very conditioned athletes, but athletically they don't compare to top athletes from other sports. You choose probably one of the least athletic examples from basketball, Shaq. Shaq is still a great athlete because it is hard for seven footers to move around, and Shaq would be an example of an amazing "power" athlete.

Hey I try to be civil most of the time, unless someone has gotten under my skin. There is no reason to argue on this board about non-football related things; sometimes it takes the fun away.

No - although I do like soccer, so I guess your question wasn't directed to me. Sometime I just like to listen to myself talk and read what I write.
