We need to do whatever it takes to move up and get Spence this year. That means moving into the top ten. Swapping picks giving up a 3rd and a 3rd next year to.

Our pick and two 3rd's? Seriously??

The last team in the late-20's to move into the top-10 was ATL for Julio Jones. They gave up 5 picks including their own 1st that year, their 2nd that year, their 4th that year, their 1st the following year plus another 4th.

JPP, when healthy, is a beast and would take a lot of pressure off of CC. With those 2 bookends and Gunther in the middle along with a healthy Peters should bring some relief to our defensive backs. I really like JPP here if the money is right.

true. Giving up two 3's would probably only move us up to #18-20ish

However it was well worth it for them. I'd trade that for a Julio Jones. However, you can make a trade like that and then get RGIII. The Rams raped the Skins on that one.

i read an analysis that basically noted that while Atlanta got a really, really good player, they also havent been able to fill holes elsewhere due to all the picks they gave up

That's debatable. It all depends on what they would have used those picks on. Look what the Browns got from those picks, not much.

The first-round pick in 2011 was used to trade up and select defensive tackle Phil Taylor. The next three picks were used on Greg Little, Owen Marecic and Brandon Weeden, while the fourth-round selection in 2012 was sent in the package deal that landed the Browns Trent Richardson. Richardson was eventually dealt to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick, so the Browns recouped some of his value, but that pick was used on Johnny Manziel. ouch

Do they even do sign and trades in the nfl??? That's an nba thing.

And I think Wilkerson will be f-tagged. Young talented dudes don't reach free agency unless they're a headache (see suh).

They can do it but usually with a tag.

Bruce Irvin and Nick Perry should be reasonable signings. Vernon would be more but is very good. For the price of Wilkerson I would just go after a Von Miller. I see Wilkerson being franchised just like Miller. I would throw everything including the kitchen sink at Miller and see if we could land him first.

The Jets aren't in the best shape as far as the cap and could resign Damon Harrison for a lot less than Wilkerson and still have a great DLine with Richardson and Leonard Williams. It's definitely not a lock, but atleast a possibility. With Wilkerson's age, production and position of need I would be all for giving him a huge contract if he becomes available. I don't think I would give up two first rounders but would consider trading one if he was tagged.

Daniels, Jackson and Vernon would be good targets for the right price. I'm not a fan of Perry. I don't think he would be an upgrade over what we have. Bruce Irvin is intriguing.

From Dolphin related articles I've been reading Vernon is their top priority. Suh has already agreed to restructure and they could cut the 34 year old Wake.

good organizations don't just let young mega-studs just walk when they enter FA. Wilkerson would be AMAZING to get, but he ain't hitting the market without being tagged.

Correct, but since when are the NY Jets a good organization?

they've been pretty competitive the last 8 years, with 6 of 8 seasons at .500 or better. And they made a good hire in Bowles, who's a defense first guy who's not going to let a monster like that get away. It's not like they're not a dumpster fire over there. They just won 10 games and are building.

I think Irvin will be the target! Weakens our chief opponent and fits much better as WOLB in a 3-4 than a part time pass rusher in Seattle's 4-3. Not to mention, combine numbers are almost identical to SB50 MVP Von Miller. Irvin possesses all of the explosiveness characteristics NFL teams look for in dynamic, speed edge rushers. I think it's a no brainer as long as his head is screwed on straight.

The talent is absolutely there but you can't give headcases multi year deals. I'm sure Dallas will be at his doorstep.

My thoughts on what will happen in free agency for us.
CB- I see us not getting the top guys like Janoris Jenkins but picking up a guy like Chiefs CB Sean Smith. He would be a solid number two CB.

ILB- I think we go after the Colts Jerrell Freeman. He was ranked as the second best inside linebacker in 2015 and BA will have the inside track on him because of him playing for the Colts.

DL- I have to agree with Mitch on this one. I can see us making a strong push for Malik Jackson.

OLB- As much as I wish we could find a way to get Von Miller I think we end up with either Tamba Hali Or Bruce Irvin. I also think we draft a pass rusher with our first round pick.
