The Sunsman Defense Team
This bothers me a whole lot:
Why are people forced to like a certain player if they happen to play for the team they like? Do all Laker fans have to like Sasha Vujacic? Do all Suns have have to like Eric Piatkowski?
If Malik Rose or Mike Sweetney became Suns, would you be forced to admire Rose and Sweetney? It sure appears that way.
Example: Sean Marks. People think he is a God in Phoenix now that he is resigned and Steve Spin-Master Kerr said a few good things about him. The rest of the league is looking at you laughing at how you praise a Sean Marks. Face it. The man stinks and move on.
It's not only the Suns. Every single team does this and it is annoying. They take a player, say Johan Petro, and praise the name so much you'd think he is Jesus Christ of basketball. The bias in pro sports is pathetic. Why can't people seem to face the facts that there may actually be BAD players on your team?
And D'Antoni does the same too. He spins the tale on a player so much I thought they just signed Michael Jordan or something. He did this with Grant Hill and the rookie draft picks.
Bottom line, too many sports fans and coaches today are forced into liking a player and coming up with justifications that they like the player - all because he happens to play for the team they root or coach for.
There is no "i" in team. A team is a whole. You do not have to like certain players as long as you like the team as a whole.
With that said, I am counting my days until Shawn Marion exits the stage.
