These two have been consistently blasted during and after their stint with the Dbacks... But, when looking at the current team, I think it's very hard to give these two some serious props.

- Goldy
- Owings
- Dury
- Ahmed
- Lamb
- Tomas
- Pollack
- Peralta
- Hermann
- Ray
- Greinke
- Bradley
- Delgado
- Godley
- Corbin
- Chafin

You can always play the "what if" game... What if either of the two were still the GM, would the Dbacks be having the type of season they are this year?? That's a pointless debate as there's just too many variables... But, I think what is pretty darn clear is that the team would absolutely not be having this type of season if not for the moves made by Towers & Stewart that resulted in capturing the above talent.

This thread is comparing something to nothing. There would have been two others and there is no telling if the D-backs would have jelled sooner.

This thread isn't "comparing" anything. It's simply my way of pointing out that for all of their warts (and there are many), Towers and Stewart actually seeded this team with a great deal of starting, high-quality talent...

I agree. They just couldn't figure out how to make them jell like they are now, and I think that's because of Tory.

This team gave away games last year. One thing would go wrong and the tank job was on. We win those games now. The whole team has up their play subs and all. You have to give it to the Manager and coaching staff IMO. Even Miller seemed to have his head on straight before he got hurt.

If my aunt had a package, she'd be my uncle. Or Dave Stewart.

Oh yeah, if you're going to blame the manager for the losing you have to give the props when they win. This is essentially the same team that sucked last year.

I've always believed that baseball is the most psychology heavy sport. If you get the players believing in themselves and each other you can have a lot of success.
