I've SEEN Giricek pass. Doesn't happen often, but it does from time to time.
On a serious note, difference is that Giricek takes good shots, whereas Barbosa charges at the basket and hopes for the best.

he had some good moments during the regular season. I think if he gets more minutes, he can become an offensive threat. He needs more minutes to gain more confidence. A new coach can accomplish this.
Need I remind you how barbosa played against the spurs???

Unfortunately, with our owner this isn't an option unless you could trade Barbosa for no salary in return. Thus it would have to be to a team under the cap.
I'd still oppose it though. I like LB and think he does a great job.
So he had another bad series against the Spurs. So did Shaq. So did Nash. So did Amare etc.

I held my post until reading through the thread, and am pleased to see that, despite his instant offense, most of the board thinks he is holding back the Suns, who desperately need a backup Point Guard.
Just as Marion did playing Power Forward.
As long as D'Antoni is here (I'm holding my breath), Leandro is going to be untrained (our perhaps untrainable) in the clutch, weak on defense, not a Point Guard and an undersized Shooting Guard.
A player with those characteristics should be nothing more than instant offense off the bench, with no regular playing time -- for a contender, that is. For an also-ran team, he's fine.

As far as Barbosa goes, i think he can still be coached into a better player in terms of his court awareness and defense, but his better value may lie as a bargaining chip towards helping this team get younger moving forward ie; draft picks.

Watching NO dispatch SA is really making me realize, Barbosa will never cut it in the playoffs on any team, he is a weak minded person, we need to purge the weak from this team.

Just to inject some diversity into the discussion [I don't remember this question coming up in this thread, or getting argued decisively elsewhere]: Are we sure LB's inability to learn PG skills, learn a broader offensive repertoire, learn some quick-shrimp defensive skills is all LB's fault? Has the D'Antoni staff broadened anyone's skill set? They may be good at self-esteem support for favored players, but is there anything else? I won't even quote D'Antoni on player development [no wonder Phoenix trades all its picks--high picks would land us young, undeveloped players who would make us worse off]. But if DA is going to leave, maybe we should give the next coach a chance to do the work D'Antoni scoffed at?

No, I think he is a very very low IQ player, even below Amare's IQ, he drives and kicks but he has no court awareness if anything that is the hardest thing to teach a player. IMO He has no future at the point.
It's probably unfair to Leandro that they have been moving him in and out of that role for the past 4 years that is on Dantoni.
My main issue with him isn't his PG skills though, my issue is that he is mentally weak and folds in the playoffs every year. He just gets so down on himself and I don't think coaching can resolve it, Mike D'Antoni created a job for his brother being Leandro's prozac and that didn't even work. I think he is as good as gone because of it, my guess is that Kerr hates mentally weak players like the Blur.
Let me ask this to the board, do you think Leandro makes the shot Delonte West did the other day?
Precisely the reason id like Avery as a coach for us.. Jason Terry had the same question marks when Avery took over. Instead of working him like a dog, he used him to his strengths, made him into more of a shooter, didn't run the offense through him, and made him into a very good defender.
If he can do that with Barbosa, id be thrilled.
