Channing Frye for me.
This works. Frye proved to be a better player than Langhi. A young Channing Frye would fit nicely in today's NBA.
He would but he was never a clutch player. Lauri wanted the big shots and was very effective.

I think a different strategy would be in play if this happened, like the Suns picking up another pick to do another trade.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think that's a case of Evan not knowing all that much about how this works? It sure seems to me that the later you pick, in general, the more prospects you'd need to fully scout. When you're picking 31st, there are 30 opportunities for your targets to already be gone so you need a lot of options.
