Do you guys think anyone would be interested in trading for Nash?
We had him for our one shot at a title, and it was an admirable run, but next
year Nash will be 33 and making a lot of money. If we traded Nash for young talent / picks, and just tanked this year, maybe our future could be bright again in 2-3 years?

Possible suitors:

Celtics
Nuggets
Pacers?

Okay, I'm pretty down about the future of the team right now, but any suggestion of trading Nash is just outright ridiculous.

Actually, I brought it up AFTER last season. Nash is at the height of his tradability after his lights out year last year. I was looking that we could trade and maybe get a young big and young PG to evolve with Amare. No way Nash stays competitive over the life of the contract he signed with us. No way. However, because of what happened to Amare, we have to keep him 1 more year, IMHO. That probably means in all essence he's a Sun for life now. ;)

Why is it ridiculous to consider parting with a fragile, aging, defensively poor PG who will be making over 10 million for the last few years of his contract? He is at his prime value right now, being the MVP. How effective do you think he will be in 2 years?

Because he is the reigning MVP. You don't trade the reigning MVP.

Not to mention he is a fan favorite.

Not to mention you are basically claiming we should blow up the entire team because Amare had surgery, not even 12 hours after it was completed.

Just won the MVP.. Not bad for an aging guy eh?

I do agree with possibly trading him while his value's high, but with Amare out, they need Nash more than ever now.

See my post above. Management has to put some kind of package out there now that Amare will miss most of the season. No way fans will take trading Nash right now with Amare down. Ticket sales would crash for sure! ;)

Why do we 'need Nash more than ever' now? So we can win 45 games and eek into the 8th seed, where we will get trounced by the Spurs?

Because without him, we're a 20 win, lottery team?

I don't consider Nash to be "fragile" at all. Despite the fact that he has the ball more than anyone else, and with the way he plays, he has still averaged 77.4 games a year during the regular season for the last 5 years. Those were also all playoff teams as well. Everyone said he would melt down in the playoffs last year, yet he had one of the most amazing runs for a point guard in the playoffs ever. He was also a top 5 player in the playoffs no question.

Lets see, if my math is correct even if Amare takes an extra three weeks to recuperate he'll be back at the beginning of March. If the Phoenix Suns are in the playoff picture (it will be very difficult, but I think they could do it) they will be dangerous when Amare returns.

This is ridiculous. You cannot make any sort of plausible arguement to trade Nash. Nothing even remotely worth considering.

Drop it.

I agree, Trade Nash now. I am thinking Nash to Philly for Iverson, straight up. We would be getting a great defender and team chemistry guy in return. The math works, put your calculators away.

We might even consider packaging those two first round picks for a guy like Speedy Claxton from the Hornets or Robert Pack from the Hornets...

Nash for Iverson, ROFL, stop it, you're killing me.

Thanks. I needed a laugh after this morning's news.

BC and Sarver could consider "insert big white stiff" in a trade for Nash and let Leandro run the point?

I agree. Even sarcasim is not ok apparently.

if you are referring to the deleted threads I'll tell you what I told Yuma. one thread wouldn't have been deleted, but there three of them. It was just cluttering the board, and there was no real content in any of them.
