Suggs wants to play here Q doesn't. If we can get a pick and Suggs. Would it be worth it. Sign and trade. Im the biggest Boldin fan there is, but?

The rumor mill was rife with speculation that Suggs, an Arizona State product, wanted to return home and play for the Arizona Cardinals, but those rumors proved untrue.

Trade Boldin and Berry for Suggs, M Clayton and a 4th.

Just throwing it out there.

As much as I hate to see Boldin go I think that trade works for everyone.

Dont think it works salary wise. I think we would have to add someone into the mix.

I hate to tell you, but a late 20 something possession receiver who seems to always be nicked up because of his playing style is not worth a premier pass rusher. It would be Boldin and something for Suggs, not the other way around.

Depends on how much they need a WR and how they view their chances of re-signing Suggs

Of course, but it isn't like Baltimore has a bunch of nobody's. They need a WR, but EVERYONE needs a pass rusher. Suggs has more value and a team out there will be willing to pay him. Ask Jared Allen. Qbs and DEs (and a close third to LTs) are the glory positions in the NFL that change games.

I disagree. I think what Q brings in terms of intangibles is priceless. Before all of this blew up there wasn't one Cards fan that questioned Q's desire and work ethic. He sets a great example on the field and in the locker room. He is a born leader and guys that lead by example are hard to replace. I think we should be careful what we wish for. If we HAVE to make the trade I think a deal with Mami for a 1st round pick would be good. I'm pretty sure it will be a high pick so we could pick up a top tackle or RB or Corner.

Imagine Suggs and Dansby side by side?

What would our WR corps look like?

This isn't like the NBA where salaries have to match up...

I realize that. But Suggs is due to make $8.5 while Boldin's number is $4. I think we are just under $3 mil in cap, so the trade would but us $1 mil over the cap.

Sure but in the end Q hasn't been on a team that won more than 8 games in his NFL career so how valuable have those intangibles been?

Not his fault of course but again his value to other teams is going to can he help us win more games, not is he a great guy.

That's why this whole issue bugs me, Q is more valuable to the cards than he would be to any other NFL team, he has a history here, the fan base loves him, he's been a part of the resurgence, he's one of the reasons we have the new stadium. For him to do what he's doing now really surprises me. I knew Rosenhaus was evil but I didn't realize how evil until now.

Drew Rosenhaus has managed to get a special guy like Anquan Boldin in a short time to completely forget what he's stood for in the past and just boil it all down to money.

I hear you but I have to think there is more to the story than were being told. I'm not ready to punt him down the road just yet. The front office has played a role in this so I don't put all the blame on Boldin. Q is a man of character so I don't think he's going to be manipulated by anyone. The Cards broke a promise to him and I hope they can get this fixed real soon. If we lose Q we take a big step backwards.

Why would we low-ball Berry like that? He took a salary cut just to be a part of the Cards turnaround. He's been one of the key architects of it, why low-ball him when hes wanted to play here all along?

I love Q, but the Cards come first and we've gotta do whats best for the team. He needs to drop the stupid trade talk because right now, its far too late for him to get into camp or to get someone else in here.

He's got absolutely no leverage.

I pointed this out at the time, you don't hire drew rosenhaus for no reason at all. you hire him because you want a new contract and he's very good at getting one by any means necessary. Anquan hired Drew to do his dirty work.

he got the first contract without having to compromise his morals, he did sit out briefly in some workout IIRC but no trade demands, no ripping management or coaches etc. This time around he's going much further, to me that means he's either disillusioned, or he's giving Drew more control of what he should do and say.

That means we can cut some more dead weight. :)

It's not low-balling, it's putting an acceptable package together.

Why? Nobody would give up a 4th round pick for Berry. Suggs for Boldin would be acceptable in terms of trade value.

Oh yeah, it would be low-balling.

Do you even know what low-balling means?

Whether or not you think Berry makes the deal any better (i was trying to propose something that plugged in replacements on both rosters at this late stage in the pre-season), it's not low-balling.

Leave it to the Cards to invent a new kind of low-balling that most us have never heard of...

I may be slightly using it out of connotation, but it would be a kick in the balls to Berry if we traded him, and you know it would.

Ravens have plenty of depth in the front 7. They have no need for Bert.

It's a business, man. It's all just pissing in the wind on a message board, but I'd hope that if a deal like that were on the table we wouldn't back off because it might hurt Bert's feelings.
