I agree with the above. I tend to believe it's true ONLY because Drew is his agent.

You're right that if Anquan really wanted to be a Cardinal, he probably shouldn't have hired Drew Rosenhaus. He hired him right on the heels of the Portis trade, and that sends a message.

I wouldn't go quite so far as to say that Anquan was "mediocre" last season after he came back. He had 623 yards in 10 games. Project that over 16 games and he would nearly have had 1000 yards. Project his receptions over 16 games, and he would have had as many grabs as Marvin Harrison.

Put another way: in 10 games Anquan was only 157 yards short of what Fitz put up in 16. The TDs are different, but the offense was designed to get Fitz the ball in the end zone.

Also, I think we should all be able to admit now that Josh McCown couldn't compare to Jeff Blake as a passer. Blake was able to get the ball to Boldin in stride and put him in a position to run after the catch. McCown laid EVERYBODY out, and that limited Boldin's production more than anyone else's.

I hear what you're saying, and I think that it may be necessary to trade Anquan, but I think you're understating how good he was last season.

Man, wouldn't it just suck for Boldin to get traded to Minny and they refuse to rework his deal

Boldin has been in the league for 2 years. He has made about $2 million dollars in that time. It sounds like a lot of money but after taxes and living the NFL life style that doesn't go very far.

Boldin can threaten to hold out but he has no leverage. The Cardinals will just call his bluff and retract their offer if he does hold out. Then his only options are to come and play for $700,000 a year or to sit out, make nothing and still have 2 years left on his contract. Like it or not that is the way the NFL works. No other teams have the right to Boldin as long as he is still under contract with the Cardinals.

The Cardinals do not have to offer Boldin anything. I think he deserves to have his contract reworked but if he wants to break the bank then I say hell no. If he wants to pull a Barry Sanders then I say fine. Let him sit out. I'm a huge Boldin fan but I'm a Cardinal fan first. Personally I think he will eventually agree to an extension but he and his agent need to give a little also.

Then so be it.

I'd be crazy not to ride this thing till the end.....the american dream in action!

If need be we trade Boldin, the ultimate sacrifice to the football gods!
:koolaid:

BUT WE NEED to get something in return, and we need another WR.

But I would like to think this Boldin kid is going stick around.

Either way.

Just win baby.

Peace

What about Shipp while we're on the subject. Does he have any value out there. Maybe a 4th to early 5th? What future does he have right now in this offense?

Is he worth any more out there than say Hambrick who we got for a 6th?

Are they pretty equal all things considered?

Boldin made one Por Bowl and was injured and mediocre the next - I'd hardly annoit him a Pro Bowl reciever at this point.
I have to disagree with you cheesey. He only made 1 pro bowl but he was 1 for 1 in pro bowl selections. I think his knee injury last year was more of a freak thing than him making the pro bowl.H e still was productive in 10 games playing a new position, coming off an injury, and having Mccown throwing the ball to him. I like Bennet but he has shown to be a constant injury risk. We could be trading away a perrenial pro bowler.I can see the Cards protecting themselves in a contract but i'd keep him.

Oh Canada!
I agree with trading boldin if it gets us a rb and at least another 2nd rounder. Why b/c when we trade shelton for a 2nd we will have
1-1st rounder
3- 2nd rounders
2- 3 rounders
=
6 picks in the first 3 rounds! that is how you build a team!
