Well, the Jamaal Crawford trade finally went down yesterday. The Bulls lost Crawford and Jerome Williams and received Frank Williams, Mutombo, Othella Harrington, and Trybanski (extracted to be waived) in return. I've read that Mutombo will be shopped around.

This leaves the Chicago Bulls as a very, very young team again. I don't think they'll be awful, but they are definitely going to be a lottery team again. In fact I think there's a great chance that they will end up with a top 10 draft pick. This leads me to the point of this thread.

We have all talked about numerous trade situations where the Phoenix Suns would be giving up the Chicago draft pick. I've done it as much as anyone. I don't think it's a good idea to trade that pick though. I think it's going to end up being a very good pick next summer or an even better pick summer after that.

While I am at it I'll say that I don't think it's a good idea to trade the rights to Vujanic either. They probably are not worth much of anything in a trade anyhow, but I think if he can get over here he will be much more valuable. He is a good player. In European ball he doesn't get a lot of assists. However from what I've seen he is a very good ball handler, creator, and passer.

Of course I wouldn't mind parting with either of these commodities if it landed the Phoenix Suns a top-quality center/power forward. I don't see that happening though.

You can't trade Milos rights right now.

Right now they are worth little. A strong olympics showing and they will be very valueable.

I agree. I watched the first half of the Serbia - Lithuania game and Milos looked very good including several steals while playing decent defense. I wouldn't shop the pick but hang onto it until someone figures out how useful he could be.

The great thing about the Crawford trade is that the Bulls didn't improve themselves at all, unless Mutombo pulls a Lazarus. I'm salivating at the prospect of Ben Gordon playing exclusively at SG, too.

The only fly in the ointment is that they picked up Frank Williams, who might have some trade value. They might still be able to pick up someone who's worth having.

Hey, you know who's going to be on the open market soon? Cezary Trybanski! "Shocking"...
