He regularly allows drivers into his body. I think it stems from two things:

A) as Russ used to regularly point out, despite being so big and a top notch athlete his anticipation for jumping is poor. He’s just not great at timing it.

B) early in his career he had some success playing defense with just length and verticality. Now he relies on that gambit too much which means pretty regularly letting attackers come downhill into your body. You’re kind of inviting contact. The issue? You just can’t count on verticality on every play because you’re going to be moving more often than not.

DA has to adapt.
