We know it's just a little over three weeks away and for a "far away" fan I'm going to miss the stories from beautiful Flagstaff. I do understand why the team has moved to UOP Stadium, but wish it didn't become necessary. My question is whether UOP Stadium is big enough for TC? And naturally I don't mean for the fans. I was very impressed by BA's use of TWO fields for the OTA's and how that helped double the reps for everyone. I don't know the outdoor layout at Flag, but wonder if there was one or two fields to practice on? The controlled weather of UOPS will be a big plus, but is ONE FIELD enough? Just wondering.

I'm a far away fan and have never been to their training camp. Flagstaff looked like paradise to me.

I think Arians "two field" system was simply for OTA's. I don't know if one field will give them the flexability but I'm sure they have a plan.

Wow! It will be here before you know it!

I don't know the outdoor layout at Flag,

Just go to google maps and search on Walkup Skydome. Switch to satellite view and you can see. 2 fields outdoor upper and 1 lower plus the indoor field.

One BIG advantage for the posters who go to TC and post here, they should be able to get great views of both offense and defense, even if they have to move their seats. What was the usual mid-week attendance at Flag?

I'll miss flag. But now I can attend any time I want as I live pretty close to the stadium.

The field is going to be a complete mess if they are using the stadium field for practice. The field was a mess about 3/4 into the season now a whole training camp on it?? What a joke.

Let's hope the temp is much lower come the end of the month. There were two big advantages of Flag. Cooler weather and higher altitude. Many athletes go to Flag for training because of the altitude.

But the altitude training only carried over into pre season games not regular season games. They would break camp right before their 3rd pre season game traditionally. Then train the next two weeks in PHX getting their game plan in place.

Yep

There wasn't a better TC IMO in the NFL!!! I will never again to to AZ to attend TC inside the big toaster...a big reason I got away from the Texas heat was the cool & scenic fresh air of Flagstaff. :bang:

Yup one of the reason i would go for 4 to 10 days every year was to escape the heat the Cards were just a big bonus.

. The team "has a plan for the turf," for those concerned about the grass. Head coach Bruce Arians told reporters that there is a 50-yard articifial turf field that they have at the stadium they will use for their drills and that, since the CBA requires that teams have an off day every seven days, that will be used to get the grass worked on.

Personally, I'm glad it got moved from Flag. The days when I could get up there during the week are long gone, and the last 5 years, the only real option for me was the Red-White game which has gotten insanely crowded over the same time.

Polls have shown this to be very popular with fans in the Valley, just because of the convenience. If the Cards were the only team doing this, I could see the bitching. But, almost half the teams don't pack up and leave town for a month anymore. Their training facilities are too good, and it doesn't make as much sense as the long ago days when guys came back from their offseason jobs needing to get in shape for the season.

I bet in 10 years no more than a handful of teams will leave town for training camp.

Two full NFL teams warm up there every game. That is more players total, than will be on the cards TC roster. Yes, they can run good practices.

The turf is the big question, we'll see.

Jerecki said yesterday the Cards will have an extra field in the south end zone area to split the team during drills. The regular field will be re-sod before the season starts.
I'll be there often for TC since I live only about five miles from the UofP. Cant wait for NFL football!

I'll prob be there once or twice (in total throughout camp) on the weekend and sometime during the week the first week of camp.

I have no talent for judging crowd sizes. Busy but not jammed. Last summer the main bleachers (not counting end zone) were full during practices. When they were on the lower field the crowd was 3-4 deep on the sidelines with more sitting up in the trees.

There will be a lot of people , the stadium will be Air conditioned not any different from pre season and the first month or so of the regular season, I understand people being bummed its not in the pines but more people will attend just because its closer now, I know we will be trending at least 3 or 4 practices as opposed to maybe 1 day in Flag
