I'm curious why you went to see it. Was it because of Mark Wahlberg? Sounds like contrary to popular belief, Shia Lebeouf wasn't the reason the previous movies sucked.

haha...no, it wasn't because of Wahlberg. My little brother from the Big Brothers program wanted to see it.

I'm also a big fan of the first one. I thought it nailed the right tone, had the right mix of funny, hot chicks and ridiculous action and still holding out hope a TINY BIT that maybe at some point they right the ship and get back to what made the first one work. But, after three really awful sequels, I'm wayyyyyy past the point of fool me once. That said, this is going to make a billion dollars, which means in three years, there will undoubtedly be a 5th one. I'm just hoping by then that my little bro will have grown out of seeing this crap in the theaters.

Then YOU win. Good work. :)

oh no...we both lost. Within 5 minutes of the movie starting, we both looked at each other knowing this was going to be terrible.

This was ABYSMAL.

This is the nearly exact feedback I have heard from every single one of my family and friends who went to see it.

Plus its nearly 3 hours??? WOW

But yeah, every single person I know who saw this, (5 total all different demographics) said the same thing, that it was TERRIBLE.

I haven't heard one single good thing about this. I'm taking my cousin to the movies this weekend it's between this and Godzilla I've already seen Godzilla twice but he doesn't know that guess it's gonna be three times

I thought it was good enough. It was too long, yeah.

Linda didn't like it; I did.

I think people expect way too much from a Michael Bay film.

Even more perfect than X-Men (which I can pretty much safely say is a much better film than this garbage--and that's without actually seeing it yet)?

X-Men was better. Better story line and acting.

I find it sad that the same guy that did Bad Boys and The Island did movies as bad as the Transformers series (even though the first one was not quite bad, just average).

I know two people who went to go see the movie just to see the Dinobots. They both agreed the movie sucked but had to see them because it was their favorite characters. I wonder how many people were drawn to the movie because of that?

How can you think the first one was average?

I will probably see this one in a few days. I don't go into these movies expecting big things so my hopes are never crashing so I don't come out of the movie thinking why I wasted my time.

Slamming Transformers is hitting the low-hanging fruit isn't it?

Seems like people on here watch movies and tv shows just as dumb or dumber that don't even have robots/dinobots.

myself included. :) I watched a whole hour of the Next Food Network Star. WAY WORSE.

I saw it and although the story was pretty bad, I enjoyed it for what it was. I saw it in 3D and to me was a good theater movie, which is really the only reason I see movies in the theaters now. Don't get me know, it was no X-Men, but it was worth the price of admission for me since I got to turn my brain off and just enjoy the eye candy of the movie.

I think a lot of poeple are missing the point that this is why a lot of people go to movies now. If I want to watch an awesome movie with amazing story, I will wait until I can rent it and watch it at home on the couch.

See, I think this is the problem. You can have a special-effects laden movie that's actually good, with a good story and well-thought out characters, and you know, generally something you can follow. Heck, this summer, we've had several movies that are like that! (X-Men, Edge of Tomorrow, etc.)

I hate the excuse that stories don't matter because all anyone wants to see is action, action, action. If that was the case, movies like X-Men would never get made.

Don't get me wrong, if no movie ever had a good story again, I would stop going out of boredom, but when you have summer movies, throwing in an action packed mind numbing movie works for me. I loved Edge of Tomorrow, but I enjoyed it for differenent reason than Transformers and the same can be said for X-Men. The action and effects of Transformers cannot be matched IMHO when you compare it to the rest of the summer movies.

We went and saw How to Train Your Dragon 2 on Saturday. I talked to some kid in line for popcorn who'd already seen Transformers and he said Dragon was a much better movie, and he's a teenager the target audience for Transformers. Dragon was pretty good so we probably saw the right movie for us.

I'll probably see Transformer on tv my girlfriend doesn't really like those movies anyways so unless her parents want to see it we probably won't see it in the theater.

I too, heard it was not that good. Still will go see it because of the action in the movie theater is always the best experience. To me, Godzilla is the best of the summer that I have seen. Thought it was better than X-Men. Don't get me wrong, I did like X-Men. The one I was very disappointed in was, The Amazing Spiderman"! It was so long, slow and so cheezy with jokes. Think I will I be disappointed in Transformers with what I thought of the summer movies that I have already seen??
