Is this report by "Draftdaddy" (???) corroborated by a credible source?

If reports are true, I had him ranked right below Pudewell on my board right after we drafted Patrick).

Regarding corners "who can't tackle" - one thing you look for in free agency are role players. Cardinal corners face matchup challenges within their division in the form of speedy receivers who can outrun guys like Rolle and Hood. Green has the necessary speed, but what do we do when an opposing team throws 4 wideouts at us - 2 of whom are home run hitters?

We can use at least one more corner who can run with the swifties. Sometimes when you look for the corner with speed - particularly after the 7th round - you may have to sacrifice in the way of physicality or tackling ability, because guys this far down aren't going to be the complete package.

In addition, Bain comes from a small school (Hampton) and will no doubt require considerable coaching up, but with this comes a terrific upside.

He's a terrific "get" as an UDFA (assuming, of course, that we actually signed him.

Cap Room and UDFA's

Just wondering, but when you only have 5 picks in the draft, how does this affect the rookie pool part of the cap budget?

Does the drafting of only 5 guys free up any money from the pool for bonuses paid to UDFA's? If so, wouldn't this give us a leg up on other teams and are we using it?

Strengths:
Good height with long arms...A terrific natural athlete...Has excellent speed and quickness...Explosive with a burst to close and break up passes...Wraps up as a tackler...Can also contribute as a return man...A terror in the open field...Upside.

Weaknesses:
Needs to bulk up and get stronger...Somewhat raw in terms of technique and will need to be coached up...Is not very physical or aggressive...Hands and ball skills are question marks...Didn't emerge until he dropped down a level in competition.

Notes:
Son of former University of Miami defensive back Tolbert Bain (1984-87)...Began his college career with the Hurricanes, where he was also on the track team, but transferred in 2004 in search of more playing time...Has all the physical tools and the majority of his flaws are correctable...In recent years we have seen a bunch of small school defensive backs do well in the NFL Draft and this guy may be next.
