I lived in Phoenix for 12 years, we always had at least 2 cats.... I don't remember ever seeing a scorpion anywhere near our house.

I have a few cats which live in the house... I never seen them kill a scorpion but they will find them for you which means you see the cat playing with a scorpion and they somehow never get stung

We have sea gulls that sometimes squeal in the Channel Islands. Terribly disturbing.
Seagulls, ugh. I can't stand the shoobies who feed them. Once you feed one, a billion more flock to the area. Shoobies are a whole different problem. These be shoobies:

Live in South Carolina now and we have Rattlers, Copperheads, Coral Snakes, Cottonmouths, black widows, brown recluse, fire ants, yellow jackets, wasps, alligators, and worse of all the dreaded REDNECKS! :hairraise
But seeing them in their natural state aboard duct-taped sea-doos with their mullets flying in the wind is just glorious!

Cy-kick is the best thing to spray for scorpions. You won't have any if you spray it around your house & yard.

Went to a Suns game many years ago at the old Vet Memorial. I saw a cockroach big enough to put a saddle on.

Lots of black widows here in Albq. I hunt them at night with a flashlight and a can of raid.

When my kids were young, found a scorpion in my house. captured into a drinking glass, where all got to observe up close

i put the glass, still with scorpion, into the freezer. For coldblooded things, its a humane way to euthanize (not sure why that was a concern...)

several hours later, pulled glass out of the freezer to show to oldest son -- where we took now dead, frozen and stiff scorpion out of the glass and handled it, looked at it up close via magnifying glass, etc.

put dead scorpion back into glass on counter

a couple hours later, returned to find a now very live and very active scorpion standing in the bottom of the glass............

I wouldn't call Manchester South Jersey. More central to north. South Jersey, as we South Jerseyans put it starts at Camden County.
I live in Holmdel - considered Central Jersey.

Manchester is south in, I believe, Ocean County, so I'll stand by my grasp of NJ geography.

I use Cy-kick. It works great. I was told it kills the scorpions food so when the food is dead, they go elsewhere. Have you seen dead scorpions by using it?

I sleep at night without a nocturnal care or concern.

It ain't about spiders, my man. You rest 'sans soins dans le monde' because the current political climate (relative to the anthem controversy) is not conducive to relaxed sleep.

or something like that.....

It's only south to northerners. Real South Jersey people know what the south is and Manchester ain't it.

In South Carolina we don't call them cockroaches we call them Palmetto bugs. After all it is the Palmetto state so why not have our state animal, no wait bird, no that's not right, our official state bug named after our state motto.

Cykick massacres everything. Unfortunately scorpions are tough sobs to get rid of. When they're in, they're in. It's hard to get rid of an infestation unless all neighbors get on the same page.

I haven't seen dead scorpions because of it and I've heard that scorpions cannibalise themselves.

I go outside with a black light at night and look on the walls. They love cinder block walls and hiding in the crevices.

When I lived in the Valley our cat was a master scorpion killer. A cat is by the best way to go.

Old time Arizonans kept chickens for this purpose. Chickens eat scorpions like candy.

My buddy has used it at two different houses. His current house is next to desert & a canal. When he first had the place built he saw them everywhere. He started spraying cy-kick heavily for about 6 months. Now he no longer has to spray at all. He's been there 3 years now.
