Wow. That's a surprise.

He's a different kind of sucky. I'd stay away because I'd hate to lose Skelton...Edward isn't worth that.

Not sure who replaces him on the Bills - not a great sign when you lose your job to Ryan Fitzpatrick (i think that's his name......)

Pariah is right though - he's a different kind of suck ..... loves the check down, very conservative approach - supposed to be one of those heady game manager type QBs ........ but just isn't

i think the bills had something like 100 yards passing total in his 2 starts this year or some idiotic # like that

Switching from a demoralized Cleveland castoff to a demoralized Buffalo castoff is out of the fying pan and into the fire IMO. (Although DA isn't actually demoralized now that I think about it).

Hall doesn't sound like a QB who needs or wants to be babied in his development. If we are going to make a switch, maybe he has more upside than Edwards this season.

We already cut that guy. His name was Leinart.

Too bad he's a good kid, I don't think he ever recovered from playing at Stanford when they were horrible. He got a lacerated spleen or kidney in one game there. He got absolutely brutalized in college, too bad he didn't get to play for Harbaugh.

He's got size and a nice arm but I don't think he'll ever be a good NFL starter.

I met him when he was in HS, at a kids soccer game he was one of the refs. I asked him if he played basketball because he was tall and he said actually I play football. When he told me his name I knew it because he was heavily recruited, so I've always pulled for him.

And now lots of us regret it.

I liked Leinart, but he'd be injured already behind this line. Assuming we went with Matt and kept DA as the backup like originally planned we'd still be watching DA right now.

And a lot of us don't.

You two are insane. Wishing for Scud to be good isn't working guys. You need to wish harder. :mulli:

I'd MUCH rather have DA/Leinart/Hall. It's one more line of defense before having to face the music that we really, truly suck.

I regret everything about the QB situation this offseason, save for getting Hall. I also regret that I wanted Toast to start more than he did himself.

Not wanting Matt isn't an endorsement of DA. Matt regardless of what you think of him did not have the support of the coaches or the players. It would have been a huge mistake to keep him on this roster. Due to that I am glad he is gone and not looking back.

That is true - doesn't mean you can't regret it.

"Support of coaches and players" is a fickle thing...you can have it and lose it, lose it and gain it, or move between the two. If things keep going the way they are, DA will be in the former camp.

2-1. Just win beeyatch.

Witness.

0-3 in moral defeats.

Pretty soon we will play some actual NFL teams, not the Rams and Raiduhs. I'm not looking forward to it. Just Win is nice, but the feeling right now is more Just Don't Lose. There is a significant difference.

That could absolutely happen. But it hasen't yet as far as we know.

While agree with you that it can be a fickle process. I don't believe that was ever going to change between Matt and this coaching staff. That bridge had been burned and the move HAD to be made.

I don't disagree. I still regret the way it transpired, from start to finish.

Me too. I wanted Matt to start the opening game and make it big time. Then we were still set at QB for years to come. However when the writing on the wall became clear exactly what the problem was I knew it was the right move.

I agree with Donald on this. One great game and all the players, coaches and fans would have been back on his bandwagon. Winning cures all ills for the most part.

My problem with cutting him was that he was still a better option then DA from day 1. DA showed nothing. He still has showed nothing. At least with Matt their were glints of what he could do in the past. There are a ton of teams with volatile players who don't get along with team mates or staff. They still manage to get it done. Not saying Matt could have but cutting him for DA????? That's crap.

Hell I would have felt better if they cut matt and said they will go with the rookie at QB. However, DA??????

+1

Was a big Leinat supporter, and had to write it off as a "In Whiz we trust" moment when Leinart was released.

It is pretty darn hard to watch Derek Anderson play, and think that the only reason he is still in is because we have a rookie in back of him.

The problem between Matt and the coaches was not getting fixed. EVER!
