Mark Eckel of the Trenton times is reporting that Detroit really wants out of the #2 spot. He reports that we may trade up, but also that Houston could be a suitor, especially if DET is interested in Carr. I am starting to think that DET really doen't want Thomas. If they are stuck at 2 I don't think they will take Thomas. I think there is a 60% chance either Peterson or Thomas will fall to us because DET will be stuck at 2 and take someone other than Thomas. They very well may take CJ he seems to be one of the safest picks in a while. He reminds me of Fitz when he came out. Also he had and awesome combine and since when does Millen care what anyone thinks?

If they take Calvin Johnson Millen will be institutionalized. Never happen.

I would be shocked also but no one thought that they would take a WR three years a row with the number one pick and he did anyway even though only one panned out. I really don't think Thomas is thier pick though.

Why? I know he has picked a lot of crappy busts at reciever, but those guys were predicted to be picked where they were. Bottom line, CJ is an absolute stud and if I had the #1 he would be going home with me. Look at it this way, I am going to rank his attributes on a scale of 1-10 (ten being the best)
Speed-10 (4.35 40)
Size- 10 (6'4 215)
Heart- 10 I saw him go over the middle too many times to question it
Work Ethic- 10 Busts his butt, look at his body
Smarts- 10 (dont have proof, but heard that he scored higher on the
Wonderlic than anyone else on GT)

What isn't to like about him. Thank God we are set at WR so I dont have to cry over missing this guy.

Mike Williams is the only pick I think you can question but ther real reasons they won't take Calvin are:

1) They have Pro Bowl Roy Williams
2) They just signed 1000yd guy Furrey
3) They still have Mike Williams

On a side note, why not try Mike Williams at TE?

May want to update the size as he weighed in at 239 lbs!

I think Millen is nuts if he bypasses Brady Quinn. Let Quinn sit behind Kitna for a year and let him start next year. Perfect situation.

Was going to post something smilar, bottom line is they really don't need another wr regardless of how good he may be. They have so many other needs.

Why would we listen to rumor about the Lions from a NJ based newspaper?
Because we Jersey guys know what we're talking about (heh heh heh).

But also let's not forget that Trenton is situated very close to where NFL Films (Sabold) and possibly an NFL Network production facility are headquartered (Ourlads too) and may be better plugged into inside info than you'd expect.

I wonder just how much of this talk about Detroit wanting to trade down, and blah blah blah is stuff planted by the various teams including the Cards? The only thing I might really believe is if the team with he #1 choice makes a statement and even then they may have hidden motives. Everyone may be hyping Thomas so as to get the guy they really want?
He could drop to #5 very easy. Those scouts are seeing a lot of things we do not.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Raiders select Calvin Johnson #1 overall. He's got everything that the Raiders would want except a criminal record.

If the Raiders trade Randy Moss, then I can see the them taking Calvin Johnson. As of now, the raiders are expected to take Jamarcuss Russell with the first pick. That is what i expect when they release Aaron Brooks.
