Cahill isn't exactly a fan favorite (myself included), but looking over his numbers from last year, he was very solid other than one month before he went on the DL.

April - 2.84
May - 2.91
June - 9.85
July - DL
August - 3.22
September - 2.28

Hopefully June was just an aberration physically or mentally that has been corrected. If he can be the pitcher he was outside of 4 bad starts in June, which is a 3.21 ERA, that will make a huge stride towards being a playoff team.

I agree. He was dropped in my fantasy league when he went on the DL and I added him. He pitched great after that. Hopefully, he can continue improving. We need all the help we can get. :)

I actually saw Cahill at a Coyotes game last month. I was quite surprised by how tall he is... and not so surprised his width. May have partially been the winter clothing but he looks like he has had a very relaxing off season.

He's always been pretty doughy

I could care less if the dude looks like a "before" model, as long as he goes out there and pitches above average.

Yeah, I knew he was a chunk, I've mocked him on more than one occasion here. But he looked a bit larger (horizontally) than I thought he would. But he might be one of the dudes who uses camp to shed his off-season weight, and get back to merely being a bit chunky.

I too hope so. I believe he will have a good year.

I hate how every damn game I go to this fathead is pitching. Today...2 outs and he promptly gives up a run in the first. The Trevor Cahill experience folks...

I agree with Chris. As a fan, I don't like seeing him in a D'backs uniform or on the mound.

Also, although I like the flashiness of Didi at SS, I am pulling for Chris Owings to win the position . . . as long as he doesn't try to hit every pitch out of the park and spend the season looking up at his pop flies.

Pitcher....IP ....H....R....ER....BB....SO....HR....ERA
Cahill.....3.0....8....6.....6......0......4......2.....9.95

Here was his experience today (Thursday) vs. Oakland.

Ouch! I said Trevor looks like my father when he was 50.

Pitches like him, too. :)

To think Bradley won't have a legit shot to be one of the starting five when the season begins. :bang:

I too would like to see him earlier, but I doubt that will happen.

I'm sure the Dbacks will do their best to hold him off until after the super two deadline in June.

What do you guys think?

Yes, we probably wont see Bradley until the year is nearly half over. I think a combination of what you said about the super two status, and how much money we have in some really iffy starters that we wont be able to get rid of.

Cahill gave up 5 runs in over 4 2/3 innings today before jamming his knee covering first base. I guess this was a better outing than his last game where he gave up 6 runs in 3 innings.

Now it is Tue. the 11th and it just keeps getting worse for Cahill.

5 runs and 9 hits in 4 2/3 innings, before he got hurt.

That's 11 runs and 17 hits in his last two starts, totaling 7 2/3 innings. And he hurts himself in the process.

If he remains in the starting rotation, let alone in the Majors, it is a travesty.

As D-backs fans, we deserve better. The D-backs deserve better.

Edit: 'Sorry Lefty. I was typing my post while you were posting your typing. :) Perhaps Cahill wouldn't be jamming his knee covering 1B if he weren't lugging all that baby fat around. His appearance just doesn't fit the description "athlete".

I think the answer to this is no. He's getting clobbered again today.

Yes, We play 10 games yet Cahill is 0-3 I think that's surprising to even his biggest critics

Not really... he sucks and we have all known it for quite a while now. Problem is the cupboards are bare. Cahill may single-handidly destroy this team...

Yeah, but fire the manager!! :D
When it happens, the big picture will show a manager who, after two consecutive .500 seasons, announced that he will try to listen more. How many years did that take him? Gibby's stubbornness has been his own worst enemy.

Sometimes, even good managers are fired to turn a negative into a positive -- a turnaround.

With Gibby's overall performance as a manager getting worse as time goes by, he is not the manager to turn this team around.

Not just because of statistical results, but because he is lacking as a leader. The many times he made an announcement to the Press (and the fans), then did the opposite the next day did not build a picture of trust.

It is a lot more specific than, "Yeah, but fire the manager!!" In this case, he is bringing it on himself.

Trading Parker and his minimum salary for a crappy pitcher who makes $7.7 million this year and $12 million in 2015 was the beginning of Towers destroying this team. Do you still believe Towers is not the problem?

Cahill blows, but he is only part of the equation. Remove his numbers entirely and our staff still has an ERA of 5.8... good for 2nd to last in the entire league.

Among the players there is no individual so terrible that they deserve a majority of the blame. I hope you're starting to come around on what a massive screw job Kevin Towers has pulled on this franchise.

100+ million dollars and a drainage of the farm system to produce an absolute turd of a baseball team... that was built to "win now". Barring some miracle work by whoever replaces KT, its probably going to get worse before it gets better.
