I think I wasn't clear in my earlier my post, I'm not complaining about this particular trade, just the potential idea of cashing in too many chips to try to win now. The D'backs need a lot of help a lot of positions and have some quality guys in the minors, I'd rather take a patient approach if possible.
Who knows if Goldschmidt is going to have a great year. Is Ryan Roberts a full time 3rd baseman? Can Aaron Hill keep it up at 2nd? How long can Chris Young fail to bait his weight and still be useful? Who leads off for this team? There's a lot of questions and it just seems the team is ripe for a small step back this year.
