Kasper looked the best at the end of last year.

Kasper looked the best in the Glendale practice.

Kasper looked the best in the preseason game--scored our only touchdown, after a 36 yard kickoff return, and a 35 yard reverse. That's 71 yards in one 100 yard drive...

Kerouac:

(1) DBs are in a different huddle than WRs, in my experience.
(2) Sullivan got to coach and "evaluate" Kasper last season. He brought Kasper back.
(3) "Circus catches" are better than drops, or being so closely covered that the ball doesn't come your way. No other Cardinal WR had more than two catches of any kind, last Saturday.
(4) I don't think anyone's "dazzled" by 2-27. In preseason, when WRs are being rotated in and no one's playing four quarters, you don't often see spectacular individual stats. Once again, no other Card WR had more than 27 yards.

It's one thing to minimize a player's production based on speculation about route-running and ability to beat press coverage. It's another thing for a player not to have any production. I think the guys in the latter group are the first to go, unless the coaches see enough potential to be patient.

Hey, maybe this anonymous DB has the straight scoop. Maybe Sullivan just doesn't like guys who bleach their hair and wear earrings. Who knows?

The mall? I don't go. At all.

Go with her to the mall once, rationalize all of her shopping decisions, act like a spoiled kid, whine, and beg to go home early.

Then go golfing every time she goes to a mall for the rest of your life.

Everybody's happy.

I just need to take it one post at a time. If I can cut down on my mistakes and make better decisions, I think the board can make great strides this season.

Yeah, but you say that every year.

This time I mean it. Coach has really helped me out this offseason, and the addition of some veteran leadership has really helped my typing skills.

WC:

I don't know why you put so much faith in the fact that he was "brought back" for training camp. The guy is still under contract for the minimum, why wouldn't we bring him back? Would the fact that we keep bringing back nobodies like Reggie Newhouse, Zeke Parker, Jake Soliday, and Nate Poole to camp every year give you the impression that these are great players who have a chance of making the team? Dennis Johnson was evalulated and "brought back" after last season, but that doesn't change the fact that he's not a very good player.

As for D players not knowing what's going on on offense, I would first say that from some of Plummer's plays last season, it sure seemed like there were DBs in the Cards' huddle. ;) Secondly, though, in camp, offensive and defensive players room together, eat together, and work out together, as well as scrimmage. Obviously, the way that Sully was treating Kasper was not only enough to make an impression on the DB, but bad enough that he told a fan about it and expressed it in no uncertain terms.

To make it easier maybe you should only type on one side of the keyboard.

For what it's worth, Kasper's married. To a serious babe. I saw her in Flagstaff.

You can check out a magazine cover shot of the Kaspers on this fansite: http://www.kevinkasper.com/

From the same site: "Kasper picked up where he left off last year in the (Cardinals') 1st pre-season game. He led the team in receiving with 2 catches for 29 yds, and rushing with a 35 yard TD run on a reverse. He has now scored the last 4 TD's for the Cardinals, and has scored their only TD's in their last 3 games."

Of course, that's just a hopeless fan talking...

Kerouac:

Newhouse was a UDFA this year. Parker, Soliday and Poole were all available/ known quantities last year, and Kasper started ahead of them.

It's funny. Less than a year ago, Kasper was a second-year guy with the Broncos, one of the league's elite offensive teams, for whom at least some outside observers were predicting stardom. From ESPN The Magazine's season projections, 9/03/02:

>>If Brian Griese stumbles this year, it won't be because no one was open... Second-year WR Kevin Kasper, a fitness fanatic with good speed and great hands, could be the breakout star--unless rookie WR Ashley Lelie, now recovered from hamstring trouble, beats him to it.<<

After getting hurt--for the second year in a row--and waived, Kasper winds up in Arizona a year later, where his future with one of the league's worst offenses is being hotly debated.

Like I said, funny.

I'm tired of talking about Kevin Kasper. We'll find out if he's still on this team in about 20 days.

Just watch that knee in the Minnesota game, Kevin...

Just for clarification, you dont think Kasper will make the team because:

a) You believe Jerry Sullivan doesn't like him.

b) You don't think he is that good.

c) You just don't like Kapser whether he is good or not.

All right, but this is the last time that I'm writing about Kevin Kasper unless I have notes on him from a game or something...

First, I'm not sure whether or not he'll make the team. I think, as I've said from the beginning, that he's is making/going to make it very difficult for the coaches to cut him. I expect that he will make the roster, but this team's recieving corps might be deep, and filled with potential, but not particulary productive. I do think that Kasper will not be the starter, and that's primarily for reason "a," furthermore, I think that Kasper should not be the starter, and that's for reason "b." "C" doesn't apply whatsoever.

Lousy thing to say, man, even if you were kidding. We had a Pro Bowl WR, in his prime, essentially end his career on that lousy rug. I think the NFLPA should file suit to force an upgrade to the Metrodome playing surface, if such a thing is possible.

Clearly, this thread has gone on long enough. I'm done.

Sure there is. You hold it like a upside down & when she screams at you, you say that you don't knw the difference. That's the last time she'll ask you to hold it

My wife only has purses with zippers so it won't work.

I have tried wadding it up and holding it like a football. I still felt stupid though.

I have pretty big hands so usually I can just barely fit it in my hand and hold it like I have no idea what the strap is for.

If I'm lucky we have a shopping bag I can stuff it in and not have to worry about it.
