It's about time. This was rumored some time ago and they even talked to some of the original cast about returning (Bruce Boxleitner and Jeff Bridges) before the talks stalled. Then it evaporated into nothing.

I would love to see another one but I also would want some of the original cast to at least make a cameo. In addition, if they can't give this film the type of budget it needs I would rather not see it done at all.

The French electronic duo of Guy-Mauel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, better known as Daft Punk, were tapped to score the soundtrack to the upcoming sequel to the movie Tron. Disney is producing TR2N; an updated version of the 1982 movie whose story is about people forced to play in a video game after being sucked its virtual world.

The film is scheduled for release in 2011.

In some of the little snip its I have seen and read they are almost making Bridges character out to be the villain this time around. I think it's a misdirection thing.

Tron Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that's unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

I thought Flynn came back to reality at the end of the 1st Tron.

I'm usually a sucker for stuff like this, but I was in junior high when the first one came out and it didn't thrill me then. Plus, the video game was a pain in the ass and took a lot of my quarters, so I'm a little bitter about that.

It was entertaining. Nothing really great about it (besides Jeff Bridges who is always great). I saw it in 3D but you don't need to.
