My cousin got to see a pre-screening. He said if you liked the orginal or are just a movie Nerd you will LOVE this movie. He said its pure eye candy with an average script. Can't wait to see it.

So far all the comments here neglect to mention the best part of Tron Legacy. The musical score by the French electronic duo Daft Punk is amazing. The movie itself was pretty cool, but the music...unreal.

Co-sign. Loved the bar scene.

Daft Punk is a headache waiting to happen.

You have no taste Shane and I dislike you for it immensely.

It didn't give me a headache but I kept thinking a nice Dwight Yoakam ballad would have worked better.

If not liking that "noise" by daft puke qualifies me as having no taste I'll gladly carry that label and run with it.

BTW: You still like me! :)

Shane and I don't agree on anything, but I do agree with him on Daft Punk. Mindless, soulless garbage.

The artistic creativity of electronic music is, in my opinion, unparalleled by any other genre of music. It can raise emotions high and low all within a couple scales. Daft Punk has mastered this art. Those who cannot appreciate QUALITY electronic music are probably the same people who cannot appreciate classical music. There is an inner-beauty that I admit not everyone can appreciate. [steps off soap box]. Oh, and FYI, IMO the "Derrezed" song, which is the song played during the trailer, is not even in the top 10 songs of the movie.

Yeah, the soundtrack is SICK. Daft Punk are brilliant at this type of thing, I'm surprised it's taken them this long to do a soundtrack like this. Some great electronic music work has been done on movies in the past, and in some cases, goes unnoticed/unappreciated.

Blade Runner (Vangelis)
Swordfish (Paul Oakenfold)
London (Crystal Method)
Stealth (BT)

The music was the best part of most of those movies, and in Stealth's case, almost enough to actually watch the film--but not quite.

I'm not much into electronic music (unless you count something like Transformer Man or Sample and Hold during Neil Young's brief foray into the genre) but it seemed to fit the trailer perfectly. For those of you that don't want to see the movie because of the soundtrack, what kind of music do you think would have fit better?

I don't want to see it because tron does nothing for me. The music in that trailer and all of it that is likely throughout the entire movie it is safe to assume. Just isn't my cup of tea and only further enhances my not wanting to see it. It is 100% nauseating. I feel like I should be in a club popping ecstasy while it's playing. :)

Whether or not it fits the trailer to me is personally irrelevant.

Just saw it last night(not in 3D), very cool visual effects, OK story and I did like the music. Worth the price of admission but not a movie I need to own or rent...probably will watch it again when it is on satellite though.

I saw this yesterday and it was pretty decent

Not great by any means, but fairly entertaining

I absolutely hate daft punk and electronic "music" ..... it/they absolutely suck eggs .... there is no inner beauty - it's souless garbage and this is coming from someone who does appreciate classical and other forms of music

that said, it did fit the video game type feel of the movie so I really have no complaints as it didn't overdo the movie

there were some cool visuals and the story line was decent .... but it felt like they held back a lot

none of the fight scenes were epic, none of the visuals really took that next step, while the bikes and discs were cool - you kind of wanted more

I would of liked to of seen more conflict between the two main characters

It felt like they left a lot on the table

Also, Jeff Bridges gave me lebowski flashbacks a couple of times in this movie

I was the opposite. I liked the music. First movie was entertaining but not great. Would go see the sequel if it looks interesting. The FX Tron Legacy were freaking awesome.
