yeah, i'm onboard too. i just hope they don't take it over the top. i like the fact that they're treating it as somewhat commonplace (as can be). if it goes ridiculous it may lose me. and i loved john from cincinnati!

It took me awhile to get into it, but the last 4 or 5 shows got me hooked. I really like this show and am looking forward to next season.
I hope Bill didn't kill Lafayette. Lafayette is one of my favorite characters in the show.
That seemed weird to me that he would feed on him. Didn't Bill know that Lafayette was one of Sookie's friends? Thinking back, I can't remember if Bill had met him before or not.

Renz, unfortunately I do think he killed Lafayette. I agree that he's a great character and I hope he wasn't done in, but I think he was for two reasons. One, Lafayette talked about what would happen to him because of what Jason did...kind of a foreshadowing thing. Two, it will give some added tension in the next season when Sookie invariably finds out.
At first, I was upset that Rene was the killer. I thought it was a cheap out...at first. Then I remembered back to the beginnning of the show, when I observed that he was the one that really spoke the Creole accent properly, and I was wondering why he was the only one. Duh-duh-DUH!!! GREAT setup.

Liked Season 1, let's hope this show doesn't go the way of another one that featured characters with supernatural powers.

Good call on the young girl vamp. I think you hit that one. You're at least a little wrong about Bill, though. He TOLD Sookie he fed. He didn't say drank True Blood; he had to feed to survive. My guess would be he fed on whoever is in Andy's car

There's something weird about the timeline, though. When they found the body in Andy's car, it was two weeks after Bill returned/Lafayette disappeared.
The new girl vampire wasn't around when Lafayette disappeared, she was still with the vampire sheriff. If Bill killed Lafayette, how did he get into Andy's car two weeks later?

I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I found there to be too much gratudious nudity. I did like seeing what's her face's nekkedness, but I'd rather they move onto the plot and not chew up the time.
They are also pulling a Sopranos by not taking up the entire hour.... some Sopranos episodes would be 45 minutes long

In my humble opinion, it is beyond gratuitous.
This is the primary reason why I will never watch shows like Rome, Henry VIII, or any other HBO/Showtime series at this point. Someone is getting laid every 15 minutes!

I was going to say something very close to this. Sex scenes don't move the plot along. This is why I almost like shows on FX and AMC a little more. However I do appreciate a well placed 4-word

Sometimes shows do take up too much time on sex scenes (a few of them in Tudors in particular), but really, most of the time they're rather short. Maybe they feel longer to you, but they aren't usually very long. Last night in True Blood, for instance, couldn't have been very long at all. It was incredibly in-your-face gratuitous, yes. If that isn't your thing, I can easily see it as a problem. Took up too much time? Not at all. As was mentioned, they should use up the whole hour. THAT'S what took time away from the show.

I was overall pleased with episode 1 (season 2).
As far as the nudity??? I didn't think it was too long or inappropriate. I remember being stoked when I saw all those little rating warnings up on the screen before it started lol.
I guess each person has their preferences. I would live in a nudist society if it was readily accessible, so that stuff isn't a big deal to me.

I just finished the Twilight book series (excellent--I didn't want to read it, but it was pretty awesome) and needed a vamp fix. The show is a bit over the top, but cool and funny. I cant stand Jen, but whatever. Hopefully Lafayette isn't really dead and he's just a vampire now, but I doubt it. Shows never seem to work out the way i want them too.
