Pitcher
Wei-Chieh Huang (ARI)
R-R
Kane County (A)

Outfielder
Socrates Brito (ARI)
L-L
Mobile (AA)

Brito appears to be garbage, but Huang is insteresting. He is 21 and in his first season in the minors and in 5 starts is 3-0 with a 0.85 ERA. He has 32 KO's in 31.2 innings and only 5 walks. The only down side is he has only last 6.1 innings per start, but he is working on getting stronger.

Here is some more info on him.

When speaking about Wei-Chieh Huang, Cougars pitching coach Doug Bochtler immediately interjects regarding the changeup the 21-year-old from Taiwan possesses.

"It's definitely a plus major-league pitch right now," Bochtler said. "He's got great fastball command. Anytime you can add those things together, you're going to be successful in (the Midwest League)."

Just facing hitters was a relief for Huang. He was signed out of the National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport by the Arizona Diamondbacks last July and didn't make his debut until May 26, working through back issues, his conditioning, refining his stuff and limiting his innings.

Despite the fact he is so raw, his control and use of secondary pitches has impressed the Cougars' coaching staff.

The changeup can often be a difficult pitch to master, but Huang came to America with an advanced feel for the pitch. How he developed it at Kao-Yuan Tech High School in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is unique.
