Trade1

PHO trade

Hardaway

DAL trade

Avery Johnson
Abdul-Wahad
Antoine Rigaudeau

Suns get an experienced backup PG who has an expiring contract and is a good leader.
Abdul-Wahad is a bad player with terrible contract but his salary is still only the half of Penny's.

DAL get a versatile swingman.

Trade2

PHO trade

Hardaway
2003 1st round pick

TOR trade

Lamond Murray
Lindsay Hunter
Eric Montross

Suns get a good outside-shooter backup SF and PG and another big-body C.All these players have smaller contracts, Hunter's is an expiring one and Montross' is a year shorter than Penny's.

TOR get a vet swingman and a good 1st rounder as a compensation for Penny's contract.

This is my first thoughts after reading this,

Points for what? For being the designated "stupid trade guy"? Seriously, you sit and think about these idiotic trades that involve 4-6 teams that will never happen and you get mad because nobody takes you seriously. Dude, read a book or do a little something more with your time. I wish realgm was never invented

And which points would that be? The same points people have been making for 2 years after each and every Penny trade scenario ever put out there?

These are two different trade proposals so don't add the involved teams and then you won't perceive these as 4-6 teams-trades.

BTW,CBA allows only 4-way trades.

Hey now, trade threads are fun. I never really like to create them though unless there is an actual purpose. Plus, I love realgm. It makes sitting through boring classes fun! :D

On a side note while playing NBA2k3 Marbury went down with a dislocated shoulder right in the middle of the season. (That SUCKS. He was putting up 22/8/5 numbers, and I was sitting at 21-14.) So I made a trade with the Clippers.

Phoenix sends:
Dan Langhi
Joe Johnson

Phoenix receives:
Bobby Jackson

I may have gotten ripped. But JJ was playing like ass all year, and langhi never saw the end of the bench. Plus, I didnt want my "seems slower and less athletic than a 50 year old Patrick Ewing* backup rookie point guard Adam West (aka BATMAN) running the show.

Back to the topic at hand.

PHO trade

Hardaway
2003 1st round pick

TOR trade

Lamond Murray
Lindsay Hunter
Eric Montross

Cool you play NBA2k3 also rock on. I have never had an injury in my fanchise. I am going on the 3rd year now. I realy wish one person would go down just so I can give my bench a try. Maybe becouse we play shorter seasons. Ever play online?

Hey i play 2k3 too. I average like 20/7 assists with marbury, close to a triple with penny and like 30/5 rebounds with marion. I actually play through the fraanchise mode though so I don't get many injuries.

Just one question to everybody who replied to this proposal:

Do you know how big and long are Penny's,Murray's,Hunter's,Montross',Johnson's and Abdul-Wahad's contracts?

I'm just curious.

Sometimes I wonder how much worse this team would be without Shawn Marion? Would it?

Penny Hardaway and Amare Stoudemire could probably make up for a lot of his production if he was injured or something. We played pretty well against Cleveland without Shawn (granted it was Cleveland).

After the horrible loss against Seattle and Marion's poor performance on defense and offense I was pretty down on him and though something like Marion and our pick plus Clevelands protected pick for Zydrunas Ilgauskas and their lottery pick ( should be Lebron James, Darko Milicic or Carmello Anthony) would make sense. I wish Marion could be a little more like Ricky Davis on offense that might have to do with the fact that Marion's arsenal of dunks is probably limited to his baby windmill.

Maybe this comes down to one of Marion's biggest problems. He is not exactly creative with the ball in hands. He rarely uses pumpfakes which may have to do with his odd release.

I hope Marion proves me wrong but what he is doing lately looks like he chokes in big games, like he did against Sacramento in the last playoff series although the Kings turned up their defense a notch against him after the first game.

When Frank Johnson says he won't say who does not take criticism very well, I would guess that the obvious choice would be Shawn Marion followed by Joe Johnson probably. Marion seems like he has no clue how to get out of a slump when he misses his first couple of jumpers and still doesn't play agressive enough. I bet you can call the plays on one hand this season when he forced the defense to foul him in the halfcourt set.

Thank you but (I don't want to be pompous) the length and size of the most contracts are in my head.

But if you know these contracts don't you think that Hunter's expiring contract would offer the opportunity of signing a good mid-level FA in 2004?
Montross' in 2005?

I'm starting to resignate that Suns probably won't go into the play-off unless they make a big comeback.

But then how could they improve their team next year besides that they get a better coach abd the young players are maturing and improving?

What are their limits?
Basically Penny's contract blocks every FA addition. His contract is that bad and long that there is no way that a team trades "normally" for him unless they are that stupid as BOS' s management.

So if Suns really want to trade Penny then they either have to take bad contract(s) or they have to compensate taking of Penny's contract.
Even with these statements I have found only two teams as possible trade partners.

Next question is what kind of assets do Suns have?

Joe Johnson?I don't wanna give up on him.
Tsakalidis? His value is dropped because of his injuries and his poor season.
Jacobsen?His value is limited.

Then it stays only the 2003 1st rounder which is maybe not that tragical loss because Suns already have enough young talents.

So I tried to get shorter contracts and servicable vets. These shorter contracts would allow to sign some FA's in 2004 and 2005.

I really like Shawn Marion but I would do this trade at a heartbeat (and I doubt that CLE would).
I don't really see where would Milicic play with Stoudamire at PF and Ilgauskas at C.

BTW,this trade doesn't work technically because Marion will become a BYC player after 1st July.

Who if any would be worth going after in 2004? Maybe I can see some in 2005 but nothing realy grabs my attition in 2004, except for KG or Rasheed but I don't think that would happen.

We've been trying to trade Penny for years--what makes you think there is a better chance to trade him now than there was last summer? This is all just regurgitating the same, overblown stuff we've read for years.
