I was sure the Cards would beat the 49ers today, and expected Josh to get his first Td, but Cards' defense had other plans and let the 49ers back into the game.

This was the Cards worst performance this season--they should have held on to that win.

The prevent cost us this game. Playing agressive for 3 and a half Qts and then laying down for the final 5 minutes. They did alot of good things in this game but a young team needs to learn to continue to apply pressure. The defense collapsed down the stretch but the offense kept them out on the field because they couldn't run the ball. 2-3 sure was looking like a lock to most with 5 min to go both sides of the ball share the blame equally.

I agree with your assessment. When we allowed Rattay the time and the underneath patterns he ripped us apart and wore out the defense. What did you mean by the quote above?

Yeah we can't continue to let the special teams unit of the opposition to score TD. It is one thing to give good field position but to allow run backs for TD makes everyones job tougher. At that point our Offense stepped it up but couldn't sustain the momentum with the D on the field so much in the second half.

Why don't the coaches call stuff over the middle? i realize that's Quan's forte and he's not there, but I think we don't do it because Green thinks Josh will turn it over, like the pick where he was trying to force it in to I think Diamond in double coverage and nearly hit his C in the head.

You take that defense SF had out there and put them up against a Culpepper and Green is going 3 WR, throw the ball on every down, attack them and blow them out. Green is one of the more aggressive offensive coaches in football. I just feel like Green is playing to keep the games close hoping the defense can make some plays.

Off tangent did you hear Ryan say that Spencer said of Fitz, "covering him is not the problem, taking the ball away from him in the air is?" Even his own friends apparently don't think he can get separation.

He got seperation on Plummer on the TD pass. He was clearly 3-4 yards in front of Plummer. The catch was great but would have been "ho-hum" had McCown lead him a little more.

There will be wailing and nashing of teath from half ass morons but all and all this team will learn from this humbleing road loss. They probably lost some momentum with this loss that is to be expected this season for a young team. How they bounce back after a bye week will tell us if they will fight it out the rest of the season. C'mon, man. Maybe it's an overstatement to say this loss was entirely on the defense. But when the offense has put 28 points on the board, and staked the defense to a 16-point lead midway through the fourth, you'd usually say that it's the defense's responsibility to close the door.

Instead, they got exposed. The Cardinals D has been bending-but-not breaking all season. On Sunday, they finally broke. Big-time.

Obviously, the offense scored enough. The defense stopped them enough. That would've been a score of 28-24. The real difference was the punt return unit giving up seven. This loss has to be ONLY their fault because football is not a team game.
