LOL. That MMQB article had him 8th, behind Patrick Peterson. The last link is an aggregated version of the NFL.com story. If you're on the same side as Dave Dameshek, you might want to reconsider your position.

The PFF article is interesting. It says he has a "case to make" as DPOY (just, apparently, not one of the top 5—a lot of people are in the conversation if it's a long coversation), but is also says that Mathieu played CB on two-thirds of the time. I think people who believe that Mathieu is a safety remain fooling themselves.

all four articles have him in the DPOY discussion on national websites, thats what you asked for.

I ordered my Honey Badger jersey this week...which likely means his career is in imminent danger.

Either that or he breaks the string of jersey purchases that ended badly (Simeon Rice, Jake, Kolb, DWash). :stick:

I dont really care, that's his style and that's how he motivates himself, but I am a little over the Honey Badger show off the field. I want to see the show on the field, in December.

It's not his fault he's always injured, but the fact is he cant stay healthy and on the field for us, so what good does it do us even if he is the best?

I'd rather spare the bravado and just say; I'm doing everything I can to be out there for every game and not leave my team hanging at the end of the season,,, again,,, again...

If I were a leader on the team I would say; Nobody even think about saying Superbowl, or that they're the best or that we're the best. We did that last year and we wound up looking really stupid, so this year we're just gonna go get it done and not talk about it.

But again, that's just me. I dont care that they dont do things the way I'd prefer, I just want us to be good and they can say whatever they want lol. GoCards

and yes, pp21 was having an amazing season too but I think the vast majority of people watching knew that honey badger was having the best season on the team, even ahead of pp21.

I thought the discussion was about the once great but now toothless junkyard dog talking about being the best defensive player in the league. :)

Mathieu isn't even on that radar anymore...and neither is my guy Robert Quinn for the same reasons. I don't hear Quinn barking though.

We'll see if he sees Goff up close & personal this year. That dog has a lot of fight left in him.

Then you have nothing to fear when you play us and throw in his direction... wait, you have a QB who can clearly put Honey Badger back on the radar and maybe even short circuit the screen because he played even worst than freaking Lindley lol

To be honest my last couple visits to the UofP have been alot of fun.

The jury is still out on Goff. He'll get some NFL caliber coaching this year....but for the record, i wanted the other guy who's in Philly. That post is in here somewhere.

If Mathieu can stay healthy and just make it through a full season he could return to being a high impact guy. I don't see it happening.

I can actually see it happening because it was the mental aspect more than anything coming back from the injury since Mathieu's instincts make his game and not really his physical attributes to an extent. You guys have so much talent on the defense and it must be frustrating to watch that offense year and year out

Derrick Rose: "I'm the best basketball player in the world if I can get back the athleticism I had before my injuries".

I'm a huge HB fan but I believe even when healthy he is at best the 2nd best D player on the Cards, PP2 is #1 on the Cards and maybe in the entire NFL. Having said that if HB is healthy the Cards D should be awesome.

I believe he FEELS like - If I don't feel like I am (or can be) the best, why play the game. I'm sure this is the inspiration for many players to reach the level of play they are striving to achieve. I'm sure Fitz FEELS the motivation to be the best.

I'm happy giving my best effort. Getting up and putting a smile on my face and doing what's expected of me, even when/if I'm down, on a daily basis. These guys are super competitive in a super competitive business.

+1 on Aaron Donald, and +1 on toothless.
