So Jurecki was right about Jonathan Cooper. Now saying the cards might be looking to add Tyrann Mathieu today.

Mike Jurecki ‏@mikejurecki 46m
Hearing that AZ may look at Tyrann Mathieu today, the thought is he could play a little safety & corner in certain packages, play maker.

Would be exciting to have a player in the secondary like Mathieu who can really create turnovers. Seems like he has cleaned up his life, grown up, and moved on.

I dunno if today is the right day to take a gamble on a player who has had plenty of off-field issues and hasn't played a game in over a year. I'd MAYBE risk the 3rd on him. If he falls to us in the 4th though, it's a no-brainer IMO

Honey Cardinal?

* best slot CB in the draft---in a division on a defense that now has to contend with Percy Harvin, Michael Crabtree and Tavon Austin.

* best ball skills

* most versatile---can play nickel FS

* excellent STs value

* feel good reunion with his mentor and best friend PP21

* all good, if he can stay clean, which is a big if---but not having to spend a first rounder on him, when he carries a first round value is a good risk/reward.

Here's his interview at the Combine:

Anyone hear Gruden rave about him last night? If we want him we have to take him in the 2nd round, imo. The buzz is too strong to think he will last to #69.

I would be happy with him in the 3rd, not the 2nd. Who knows if he lasts.

He's a possibility in the third if we draft OLB in the second IMO.

Charlie Casserly says the second round will be dominated by cornerbacks and he's expecting at least 10 to go.

Don`t want a player who needs a full time babysitter.

Yeah dude has some serious off the field issues. I wouldn't take him with our 2nd round pick unless we trade down and pick up an extra pick. Even then it's a huge risk. Now if he is there with our 3rd round pick I might consider it.

upside to that though is that his sitter happens to already be our stud CB. He wouldn't get away with much here. Just can't let him and DWash hang out after hours lol

No thanks on day two. Tomorrow is the day to take chances which is exactly what a team is doing by selecting Jeff Spicoli.

I'd be fine taking him with our second if Keim thinks he can play some safety for us.

I would take him. You would be rolling the dice off the field but on the field you would have a perfect solution to all the teams running WR's with quicks across the middle of the field.

Taking the Honey Badger in round 2 would be a George Booneish move to say the least.

WhEn i heard arians on his first press conference he said he want. an offense that can move the ball and a tenacious defense on red zone and the need of playmakers to cause turnovers..peterson and badger crazy duo

No doubt that Mathieu would one of the biggest playmakers we can choose. Also Arians wants to have someone else back there with Peterson on punt returns (Cribbs), but if we get Mathieu having him with Peterson would be crazy. So many possibilities with him and I feel like he is done with the drugs especially since he will have some support here.

Matthieu couldn`t stay out of trouble in college.How do you expect him to act like a respnsible person when he gets some big dollars in his hands?He can`t help the team if he`s busted and ends up on the suspended list.Too much of a risk to take.

wow .... didn't know that ..... he's being talked about on a seattle forum I post at and here are my thoughts for him joining the seahawks

As for honey badger, no thanks ..... he could be a phenomenal slot corner, but the guy is a complete mental midget and his upside isn't worth the more likely downside

If he's there in the 5th or something, then sure ..... anything before that, please no

Now with the additional information he wasn't making meetings, not a good thing at all ..... he really seems like someone who just doesn't get it and doesn't respond well to pressure situations

The fact that he blew off Pete Carroll and the Seahawks does indicate he is making progress.

I can live with him in the 3rd or 4th, and would be excited about his upside and love the pick in the 5th. The second is plainly too high. The only reason I'll accept him on this team is Patrick Peterson, however.
