The PAC-10 opener 'Cats at 'Devils this weekend.

I am looking forward to a good game. Arizona seems very young and vulnerable. I haven't watched ASU much but it sounds like they have some nice new players.

BEAR DOWN, GO CATS!!

ASU's basketball team is much like their football team. Lots of hype, no production. The Cats are vulnerable, but I don't see them overlooking the Cats

The Cats look the same as they do every year. Playing well against the big teams and playing down to their competition against inferior teams. At the same time, ASU looks like crap. No wins away from home or against a quality opponent. They are essentially a one-man team. But you never know in these games. ASU always gets up against their supposed "rival."

You're right, these games usually are different. However, right now ASU is in a downward spiral, and I don't think going up against the #4 team in the country, even if it IS Arizona, is going to help them much.

It'll probably be a competitive game, but UofA just has too many weapons. They only go like 7 deep, but all 7 of those players can put 20 points up if they wanted to.

And your football team? No hype...no production? :D

BTW: We prefer to go by Sun Devils or even Devils, unless you were implying that your team would not overlook itself.

Go Devils!!! Fork the Cats!!!

I guess I didn't realize ASU was having that bad of a year. Rivalry games are usually fun to watch. I just hope it stays clean.

I think UofA is going to roll. It hurts to say this but I think ASU has looked horrible this year. We still haven't beat anyone over .500 or won on the road. I wouldn't call them overrated only because I don't remember anyone rating them high to begin with. Hopefully the Cats will over look them but I seriously doubt it. I hope I'm wrong though.

GO Devils!

I was just using the football team as an analogy.

Besides, I'd rather be in UofA's position in football than ASU's.:)

Exactly. I have a good feeling we could be superior to Tempe Normal in both sports pretty soon. Many of these ASU fans won't admit it, but they are pretty nervous about Stoops, especially because they're stuck with Dirk Koetter.

You would? :biglaugh:

No offense, but UofA is still a laughingstock of college football until proven otherwise. Mikey Stoops has to prove himself as a head coach now that he is with his big brother.

I'm not a huge fan of Koetter, but he has still proven more than Stoops has.

Nervous? Puhleaze....

UofLame's football roster is so bad right now, that I won't be "nervous" for at least a couple of years.

Just be sure to keep Stoops out of the strip clubs and off the road when he's drinking.

Other than that, he'll probably help the football program down there.

All in all, I've never seen an ASU team get CRUSHED like this (against UofA).

Basically a pick up game out there... and the better team is winning (understatement).

Go zone against the Devils, and you're assured a win.

Jason Braxton shoots free throws and jumpers like... well, like.... I can't describe it. That poor guy is going to be scarred for the rest of his playing days after the last two games.

Wow all of Arizona's weapon were on display today.

They collapse on Ike and ASU's offense sputters.

What a player Diogu is though. I think he could be a good pro. With the shooting he has shown he could be a nice big 3 or small 4.

Frye is really coming in to his best basketball. He is so much more consistant this season.

By the way, if Lute does not bring in the walk-ons with 5+ minutes to go, they would of won by over 40.

What a joke that is. Stoops has done nothing to warrant a statment like this except to be the brother of a great college coach.

Uh, he was the defensive coordinator on a national championship team. All Koetter has done is take a team that was picked to contend for the Pac-10 title and run it into the ground.

Talk about denial.

Yeah you're right. Being a Defensive Coordinator and a Head Coach are pretty much the same thing.

Yeah, being the brother of a coach and actually being a coach are the same thing.

Yawn.

The 4th team in the nation beat an unranked team in it's own conference. If they're not in-state rivals, this isn't even a story.

If ASU had won it would have been a huge upset.

UofA won a game it should have won. Congrats.

You still gotta love the chant by the ASU fans: "Tucson sucks!"

I think the Defensive Coordinator of a National Champion has proven more than some guy who has never won a bowl game.

I think it is a story. How long has Rob Evans been their coach? Five years? And ASU's program is still light years behind U of A.

Evans and Koetter are really panning out as brilliant hires.
