Gotta say I wish this game was Saturday not Thursday. Would allow UCLA to rest farmar a lot more playing him limited minutes against ASU depending on game situation.
Farmar played 36 minutes against Cal Saturday, he wasn't limping but his ankle was heavily wrapped and he was clearly jumping off one leg which affected his shooting, he could not turn the corner on Ubaka.
Hopefully he didn't aggravate it and several days of ice and therapy will really help, it has the last 2 times this year he's hurt the ankle. Same holds true for Ryan Wright who's the Bruins best leaper but also playing on a badly sprained ankle suffered in the Stanford win.
Huge game for UCLA, don't want to lose 2 straight this early in the year. Lot of pressure on freshman PG Darren Collison if Farmar is limited by his injury.
The main problem UCLA had with Cal was they couldn't hang with them on the boards. UA is a better defensive team than Cal but not better on the boards so hopefully UCLA matches up better. I am concerned that if Farmar is hampered, it's really going to cut into UCLA's offense. UA can focus Rodgers or Adams on locking up Afflalo. Would be a nice game for Shipp to breakout, he's hit double digits in his first 2 games but is still playing his way into shape.
Should be a good game, just wish it was played Saturday.
