At UW, they shot over 40 FT's and beat UCLA. Tonight they shot 10 at Pauley and lost. 8 combined fouls in the first half, 2 in the first 12 minutes.

Night and day, UCLA is pretty tough to beat when the refs let them play that much because they will cause turnovers. UW figured it out and started pressing.

Only concern for UCLA continues to be freshman PG Jerime anderson, had 5 turnovers in maybe 5 minutes, single handedly got UW back in the game both times he came in for Collison. I really worry about him at PG next season if Jrue goes pro.

I didn't get to see the game, but 43 FT's one game to 10 in the rematch is a bit strange. UCLA got 15 FT's in the first game and 18 in this one.

they weren't calling fouls on guys driving to the basket and jumping in to create contact. first game UW did that all game and paraded to th eline, this game they didn't get the call. The one call they made consistently was over the back, Jon Brockman was called for it 4 times, twice for a 2 handed shove.

Brockman ended the game with a serious cheapshot I wonder if the Pac 10 will take action. UCLA got a steal and he grabbed Jrue Holiday to prevent a breakaway and then threw him down to the floor like he was a DE sacking the QB. He fouled out but the refs didn't call a flagrant. Howland was asked about it after the game and all he said was we have it on film we'll let the appropriate authorities decide.

Was the UCLA player hurt? If not, it was a wasted foul. Wish I had seen the game.
