it was a team of good guys......:)is this more of a sign him so he can't beat him rather than a sign him so he can help them? i'm not sure what horry can do for the spurs, other than not make shots against him. i wonder if he'll make that many for them anyways.

no towels for horry poppovich......

The Lakers have a killer starting lineup.

But man, their bench has got to be one of the worst in the league. Their sixth man is either Derek Fisher or Kareem Rush.

Yuck.

Re: Horry

He was going to retire if he could not find a team in Texas to play for...Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio.

Why?

Because he wants to be near his kids.

What a jerk.

Sad that you only remember him for "the towel incident," which is so miniscule compared to what other athletes have done on or off the court.

i remember his suns moments becuase they are my favorite team. you'll remember him as a laker right? that's ok.

my post was mostly about how he would do for the spurs and if it was more of a defensive signing than an offensive one. when suns fans think horry, they think towles and clutch shots. laker and houston fans think differently. but that doesn't mean one or the other is right. just the preference.

People can want to be near their kids, but still be total jerks...

Look at Barry Bonds.

What Horry did was totally inexcusable in team sports, and we have the right to dislike him if we please.

I guess I'm not a true Suns fan, because I've never been an Horry hater. Yeah, he got frustrated and was disrespectful to his coach. It happens. He was clearly unhappy in Phoenix, and I don't know whose fault that was, but sometimes a player and a team just aren't a good fit.

But ... I've never considered Horry to be blessed with magic powers, either. The way some Laker fans used to go on and on about him -- before last year's playoffs, that is -- you'd think he was some kind of superhero. He's a lanky forward who is a dangerous shooter when left open. That's about it.

I somewhat agree with you, but I probably hold a little more disdain for him than you do--but he's not a hated player like Rick Fox is, for example.

I really don't dislike any of the Lakers from last season's team. I just don't like the Lakers as a whole.

Now this year's team is different. I do like Gary Payton, and everyone knows I absolutely loath Karl Malone.

"Killer"? I thought it was just assault. Were somebody's charges upped again?

If he gets hedo and Mercer....than all that cap room comes off next season. So he will have like 11-13million in cap space next season for Kobe/Tmac/Garnett FA frezy. Even though most of them will stay, but I see the idea. Not any good FAs left this season, try next year

Gee, I wonder why you think that?

Because it was an honest opinion.

Much better than "Suns good, Horry bad."

P.S. The incident would have never happened if the Suns had properly promoted Paul Silas to head coach... ;)
