Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels are adding another piece to the puzzle that is their 2025-26 roster.
After losing Elliot Cadeau to the transfer portal, the Tar Heels really needed to find a point guard to run the offense for next season. They targeted a few. And now on Wednesday, they have their commitment.
Colorado State point guard Kyan Evans picked the Tar Heels, pledging his commitment to the program. Evans picked UNC while having interest from other programs as well. The Kansas City, Missouri native had a breakout season for the Rams a year ago, earning Honorable Mention All-Mountain West honors.
He helped lead Colorado State to a Mountain West Tournament Championship and a win in the NCAA Tournament while averaging 10.6 points and 3.1 assists per game.
Evans is a big get for the Tar Heels not only due to his ability to run the offense but his three-point shooting as well as he was 24th nationally in three-point percentage at 44.6 percent last season. That's something UNC struggled with as a team.
The commitment is the third out of the portal for UNC as he joins forward Jonathan Powell and center Henri Veesaar who pledged their commitments earlier.
