Maybe Anquan would like it better in Green Bay?

Boldin for Walker, straight up.

Walker is 6'3" and 215 lbs from Florida State. Last year he caught 89 passes for 1382 yards and 12 td's.

I'm hoping that Q remains with us and this thing gets worked out. However, there's going to come a time where we will have to fish or cut bait.

Mentioning a trade might be a nice way to show him ALL the options that are out there and not just what Rosenblo is telling him.

Both are WR studs. It ain't gonna happen. Walker is a bigger faster WR that can get down the field. It would be nice but it won't happen.

I would to it in a second, hell I'd even send a third round pick with Q for Walker. Walker would be a dream...plus he doesn't have all the injury worries that Q has. Don't see it happening though.

Both have Drew Rosenhaus as their agent.

Yeah I kind of doubt we'll deal Quan to avoid Rosenhaus and get another rosenhaus holdout in return.

That trade wouldn't solve anything for either team. These 2 guys aren't mad at the team, they just want more money. If we traded for Walker we'd still have to give him a big new contract just like Boldin.

yeah but it would give us more of a speed option than we currently have.

Walker's size, speed and ability is almost identical to Bryant Johnson, so I really don't see this happening...

Perhaps it would illustrate to Q the tenuous nature of his demands if you tried to make that trade straight up and you could tape the laughing followed by a loud hang up on the Packers end.

I hope you are kidding.

Not about the don't see it happening part but about the identical part. It works for me until that word ability.

gotta agree - even go further - I think BJ's speed is a creation largely of the people on this board. There a difference between timed speed and game speed - and while BOTH guys have very good timed speed - Walker has also shown that his has translated over to the field - whereas BJ has never looked like a speedster.

To be honest - I can't see GB making this trade or us even trying to make this trade, but Walker and Fitz would be terrifying - whereas Fitz and Boldin would be scary - hey - I'll take scary though - considering that usually we're just looking at sh&*y!

They are similar players, had similar draft grade, drafted at almost the same spot and have very similar stats in their first two seasons.

Remember, Walker was considered a semi-bust until this season (his 3rd). Johnson, like Walker, was very raw coming into the league and I expect him to breakout this season as well.

Agree. The NFL.com scouting report on him before the draft said he ran a 4.57 40 at his pro day and a 10.65 100 meters. They don't run 100 meters at pro days so I'm assuming that was highschool track or something. he's not slow, but I don't think he's particularly fast either, at least he doesn't play fast.

of course that whole scouting report sounds like a different player, he's got some obvious talents but so far I've seen a guy who's very inconsistent and seems to be covered more than open.

BJ is just basically a poor mans Boldin.

Best thing you can say is that he was drafted pre DG. If you look at that draft the only player taken where we took him had DG been here would probably have been Boldin.

I wanted to believe we had some gems there, heck I think we all wanted to believe that but what we really got was one reach after the other out of panic.

It was mentioned on here that he ran 4.37 at his pro day.

I simply can't believe that to be true - 4.37 is ridiculously fast - I've NEVER seen an iota of that speed from BJ.

You guys are giving Walker too much credit. When you compare who's throwing the ball to Walker (FAVRE), to who's throwing it to DJ & Q (Take your pick- Blake, McCown, King, Navarre), it narrows the gap considerably. What kind of numbers do you think Walker would have put up with us the last few years?? Probably NO WHERE near Boldin's.

You're right. Who ever mentioned that number must of been mistaking, because I pulled up BJ's workout numbers:

He ran a 4.57 in the 40-yard dash. And 10.65 in the 100-meter dash. But did not work out at the combine.

It's odd because if you go over all the information about BJ, you get the impression that the guy is ether or fast or 'deceptivley fast'.

Accelerates well and is a deceptive, smooth open-field runner

An athlete with blazing speed (10.65 in the 100 meters),

So from that, you would think he is quite quick. Then you get:

Rounds his cuts a bit and is not considered a classic burner

Must snap off and accelerate out of his breaks better.

Again, some more stuff that contradicts itself:

Johnson is creeping up as one of the top receiving prospects available in the draft this year. He has great speed, leaping ability and is very good at running routes.

Then:

A physical receiver with soft hands, Johnson is a consistent possession receiver who makes the big catch when it's needed most.

But then goes on to get it dead right:

Johnson impressed scouts and coaches at the Senior Bowl with his precise route-running and imposing physical stature. He had a few drops, but most agree he will be a solid No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in the NFL because he still is learning the position and likely will only get better with time.

here's the thing - if a WR DEFINITELY has GREAT speed - there ain't any divergence of opinion. No one said anything different of Moss, Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Roy Williams, (the Rogers kid who's always hurt for Detroit), Reggie Wayne, Terry Glen, Joey Galloway, Torry Holt, Santana Moss - you NEVER heard a divergent word about those guys speed and on the field - everyone but Rogers has proved they are burners - not necessarily great WR's - but burners definitely.

BJ ain't that guy - he did improve last year and I think he can improve even more this year but he's never gonna be a burner IMO.

Yeah you are right. My brother is a big Packers fan and his thoughts are to let Walker see how good he is with someone other than Farve throwing him the ball. He doesn't think the Packers will give in to his demands as they also didn't to McKenzie. They will go on without Walker just fine. Packers will play hard ball.
